Oakley Split Thump MP3 Sunglasses
Last year I reviewed the original set of Oakley Thump MP3 shades and thought they were pretty cool. Sure, they could have been better looking, but overall they were OK. Oakley has announced an upgraded set of shades called the Split Thump.
The cool part about this latest version is that when you don’t want to get your groove on or answer questions from the technologically challenged about your shades, you can remove the ear buds and they look like normal shades. Read more

First Oakley Thump 2 MP3 Glasses Review
The guys over at the iLounge got their hands on a pair of the new Oakley Thump 2 mp3 player sunglasses.
As reported in August, the new Oakley Thump 2 have the popular Oakley GASCAN look.
Quote from the review:
"Overall, we’re definitely more impressed by Thump 2 than its predecessor, and think this has the potential to be a big deal for Oakley when it launches at the end of October. History has shown that a sub-$300 entry point is infinitely more mass-market than a sub-$400 one, and now Oakley has two models at the lower level.

New Oakley THUMP 2.0 MP3 Glasses in the Works
Update 10/07/05:
Oakley THUMP 2 officially announced.
Engadget broke the news yesterday that Oakley is working on a new version of its MP3 sunglasses called Thump. I contacted my connections at Oakley to get some more insight. I did not really get much more information as Engadget already had published. At least it confirms that new THUMP mp3 glasses are indeed coming.
I reviewed the original Oakley Thump glasses a while ago. The verdict about the Thump glasses was that they work great, but the style and the price are not for everybody.
It looks like the new Oakley Thump 2.0 is about to fix these two issues.
The Thump 2.0 will have the style of the Oakley GASCAN sunglasses (photo) and is aimed at a youthful customer base that defines its life style with individual sports, music and fashion.
The Thump 2.0 architecture includes a new speaker boom assembly capable of accommodating virtually all ear/cranial geometries, i.e. maximizing range of fit.
Additionally the Oakley THUMP 2.0 will likely offer more memory options.
The product is expected to release during the fourth quarter of 2005.

Oakley Thump MP3 Player Sunglasses Review
|
Oakley sent us their innovative MP3 Sunglasses Thump for review. We
reported
about them the first time in September 2004. Oakley managed to rather
seamlessly integrate a MP3 player into a pair of sunglasses. This sure
was more impressive before Apple released the lightweight iPod
shuffle music player. We reported about the fun "iPod
shuffle sunglasses". Still the Oakley Thump is a sexy gadget and we also wasted no time and energy and had I4U Gadget Model Christine pose for a photo shoot with the Thump. See the photos. I received the 256MB Night Camo / Black Iridium Polarized model. Read the full review. Read more Posted on Wed, 6 Apr 2005 02:53:47 CDT | by Luigi Lugmayr Oakley Thump MP3 Sunglasses Review
