The Camera With Good Mojo - Mju 1000 From Olympus
Olympus actually just announced an impressive 10 new digital cameras, and you can see all of them at our sister site, Camborg. Most of them are what you might call run-of-the-mill cameras, but there is one that caught our attention, and that's the Mju 1000. This sleek camera packs in 10 megapixels as well as a bunch of photographer-friendly features.
Such features include "fine zoom", which allows you to isolate specific details while taking a picture with a moving background. Also, image stabalization and 30 FPS movie capturing round out the noteworthy specs.

Quote:
"Anyone with an eye for design looking for a digital camera that will let them take high resolution snapshots with ease will be able to get along with the Olympus Mju 700/Stylus 710. It's an attractive looking camera and I've got sweet memories of the user friendly operation, but I expect more from Olympus.
I expect more innovation from a manufacturer that has been at the forefront of photography for many years.

Olympus SP-500 Digital Camera Review
Our review partner Designtechnica reviews the Olympus SP-500, a compact 6MP digital camera.
Quote:
"Olympus is struggling mightily to keep with the digital camera leaders (Kodak, Canon and Sony). Sometimes they win with models like Stylus 800 and E-500 D-SLR while in other instances they fail miserably with IR-500 and M:Robe. Yet you can't blame them for trying; they can't just quit the game or they'll end up in the trash heap of CE companies.
Where Olympus really shines is with its Ultra Zoom
digital camera like the new 6-megapixel SP-500UZ, the company's latest 10x optical zoom
digital camera (the ancient 2MP C-700 Ultra Zoom was one of the first in the industry). This equals 38-380mm in 35mm terms, a very nice range.
At $379 it's more expensive than the $299 10x Kodak Z740 with slightly less resolution (5MP). It's also a bit cheaper than its other ultra zoom competitors, the $499 5MP Sony DSC-H1 and Canon PowerShot S2 IS with 12x optical zooms and image stabilization.
Kodak's new P850 is a non-image stabilized 5MP
digital camera with a 12x zoom that costs $449 while Konica Minolta's 6MP DiMage Z6
with a 12x optical zoom is $399. Looking at these prices, you can see the
SP-500UZ has a ballpark price battling it out with some tough competitors. Now
does it swing and miss or hit it out of the park? (As you can probably tell, I
can't wait for baseball to start again!)"

Olympus m:robe Super Bowl Ad Actually Worked
Olympus had two rather weird and stylish, but not necessarily informative Super Bowl ads last Sunday. Some news outlets critized the Olympus m:robe commercial, but they worked.
Based on a statistic on Super Bowl Ad driven web traffic, published in a ComScore press-release the Olympusamerica.com site gained 363% on traffic. That is the number 3 spot with a big margin towards the number 4 spot. The winner is Budweiser.com and godaddy.com made second place. See the ads again on the Olympus m:robe site.
The m:robe MR-500i music player and digital camera is an interesting gadget, at least Olympus thinks so by spending Super Bowl Ad money on it. The MR-500i starts at $419.00. Find stores here. The m:robe MR-500i is also available on Amazon.com.

Olympus m:robe MR-100 Review
DAPReview has a review of the new Olympus MP3 Player m:robe MR-100.
Quote:
"Olympus recently introduced two new mp3 players to compete with the iPod and other high-capacity DAPs, the m:robe MR-500 (20gb) and MR-100 (5gb). For Olympus, a company that's primarily focused on digicams, this is the first jump into digital audio players.
If you just want a simple, easy-to-use player that's gushing with style-points, the MR-100 is perfect. On the other hand, if you want a DAP with loads of functions and features, this ain't it.
"
