Core i7 Overclocking World Record set at 5510.09MHz Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review Asus reports that the Japanese overclocking enthusiast duck has set a new overclocking world record on a Core i7 CPUT with the ASUS ROG Rampage II Extreme motherboard.
The record is now at 5510.09 MHz. a CPU overclocking veteran, duck still holds the world’s highest frequency for overclocking a Pentium 4 631 CPU to a staggering 8180.4MHz last year.

The Core i7 CPU used for this overclocking record is of course the expensive Core i7 965 Extreme. Read more

NVIDIA Says No to G80 Overclocking?

NVIDIA Says No to G80 Overclocking? Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review The Inq is reporting that NVIDIA has put the kibosh on overclocking for the upcoming G80 based graphics cards. Supposedly this stems from the issues that several of the NVIDIA partners had with overheating on the 7900 GT’s that were clocked higher than reference.

However, I am not sure how much stock you can put in this report, the story goes on to say overclocking of the 7950 GX2 wasn’t allowed and I happen to be the proud owner of an XFX 7950 GX2 XXX that is overclocked. Read more
