Four New Sony PSP-3000 Holiday Value Packs Hit Japan
Sony has with the PSP Go a new PSP model, which does not mean though that the PSP-3000 is now outdated. To the contrary, the PSP-3000 is still the main portable Sony console.
Japanese gamers get four new PSP-3000 value packs for the Holidays.
The bundle pack will include the PSP handheld entertainment system (PSP-3000) in Piano Black, Pearl White, Vibrant Blue or Radiant Red color, a 4GB Memory Stick PRO Duo (Mark2), a pouch and a cloth.

Sony Cuts Sony PSP-3000 Price In Japan
Sony announced at the TGS 2009 a price cut for the Sony PSP-3000 console to 16,800 Yen (~$185) in Japan. The PSP price before was 19,800 yen (~$218). The question is now if Sony will also cut the PSP-3000 price in the United States, which is currently at $169.99.
What I see more likely is a price-cut for the PSP Go, as it is priced way too high at $249.99. So as soon as the early adopters got the PSP Go, the price is most likely to be cut.

Sony PSP PSP-3000 gets new bright Colors
Sony unveiled four new bright color versions of the Sony PSP-3000 in Japan.
The new Vibrant Blue (PSP-3000 VB), Radiant Red (PSP-3000 RR), Bright Yellow (PSP-3000 BY) and Spirited Green (PSP-3000 SG) will launch in Japan in March 2009. Whether or not Sony will release these funky colored PSP consoles outside of Japan is not yet known.
Concurrently with the release of these new color variations of the PSP, PSP CARNIVAL COLORS Value Pack, comprising a PSP in newly introduced color and accessories including a 4GB Memory Stick PRO Duo (Mark2), an original PSP pouch, a wrist strap and a cloth, will become available in the Japanese market at a RRP of 24,800 yen.

Black Sony PSP-3000 Media Pack got cancelled
Sony decided together with U.S. retailers to drop the Black Sony PSP-3000 Media Pack we reported about recently. The PSP Pack was already available on pre-order and was supposed to ship at the end of November.
Now the only PSP-3000 SKU is the silver PSP-3000 inside the PSP Ratchet and Clank Entertainment Pack.

Sony sells over 140,000 PSP-3000 in Japan in 4 Days
According to Japanese gaming magazine publisher Famitsu (via Wired) the new Sony PSP-3000 console sold 141,270 in the first 4 days based on Enterbrain sales data.
Sony PSP console sales were very low the month before, which was understandable as the new PSP was already announced.
Overall Sony sold over 10 million (10,357,481) PSP consoles in Japan to date.

The sliver Sony PSP-3000 has started shipping this week. Now Amazon started taking pre-orders for the black Sony PSP-3000 bundled with a 4GB memory stick.

New Sony PSP PSP-3000 gets unboxed
The new Sony PSP-3000 console will start shipping on Tuesday, October 14th. The new Sony PSP-3000 ships first inside the Ratchet and Clank Entertainment pack, which is available on Amazon.com for pre-order. It ships on October 31st with a price of $199.99.
Apparently a Best Buy store had a PSP-3000 already on the shelf and Engadget received several unboxing photos from a lucky PSP-3000 owner.

Sony PSP PSP-3000 launches in Japan next Month
Sony already announced the new PSP-3000 for Europe and the United States in August at the Leipzig Games Convention. Today Sony announced the PSP-3000 launch details for Japan.
In Japan Sony will offer the PSP-3000 in piano black, pearl white and mystic silver for 19,800 yen (~$183) starting October 16th. SCEJ will also release PSP Value Pack for the Japanese market at a RRP of 24,800 yen (including tax), comprising a new PSP system (Piano Black, Pearl White or Mystic Silver), a 4GB Memory Stick PRO Duo (Mark2), an original PSP pouch, a hand strap and a cloth to meet users’ various purposes in using the PSP systems such as playing games, watching movies, listening to music and downloading content through the network.

Sony PSP PSP-3000 unveiled
Sony announced at the Leipzig Game Convention (GC 2008) the rumored new Sony PSP console PSP-3000.
The Sony PSP-3000 features an advanced LCD screen supporting higher image quality, crisper colors with more definition when outside in natural light. The PSP-3000 also includes a built-in microphone, maximizing the communication features of products such as Go! Messenger and Skype.

Sony PSP-3000 rumored to already be in Production
Rumors about a new Sony PSP console are reaching over from China. Sony is supposedly already producing the PSP-3000 console.

Sony PSP-3001 becomes official on FCC
The new PSP-3000 would have built-in microphone, a new PS button similar to the one on the PS3 and possibly even be the long rumored PSP phone.
Leaked photos of PSP-3000 are supposed to support these claims.
