Sony PSP Firmware 5.03 available
Sony issued a new firmware update for the Sony PSP. The PSP Firmware 5.03 is a minor update and is supposed to improve the stability of the Sony PSP.
There are no further details on the specific fixes.

Sony PSP Firmware 5.02 coming
Sony announces yet another firmware update for the Sony PSP. The firmware 5.02 is supposed to improve system software stability during use of some features, including the PlayStation Store.
At the end of October Sony had to release the PSP Firmware 5.01 update to fix a memory card issue. The 5.01 was released just about 10 days after the major PSP firmware 5.00 update was released.

Sony PSP Firmware 5.01 released by Sony
Sony found an issue in the just released PSP firmware 5.00.
The new firmware 5.01 fixes issues related to larger-capacity Memory Stick PRO Duos.
When downloading content from the Store to a PSP with an 8 GB or 16 GB Memory Stick Duo media inserted, you may see a message indicating that the media does not have enough free space, even when sufficient space exists.

Sony PSP Firmware 5.0 demoed on Video
Sony announced the new PSP firmware 5.00 on Monday. The major new feature in firmware 5.00 enables you to directly download games via Wi-fi from the Playstation store onto your PSP. If you want to see how this works you can watch on the Sony Playstation blog.
Of course you can just install PSP firmware 5.00 and try it yourself, it is very straight forward.

Sony PSP Firmware 5.00 announced
Sony announces the new Sony PSP firmware 5.00. The firmware 5.00 brings a Playstation Network icon to the XMB and you can now sign up for PlayStation Network, manage your account and access PlayStation Store directly from your Sony PSP.
This new feature in firmware 5.00 enables you to directly download games via Wi-fi from the Playstation store onto your PSP.
Sony is taking down the Playstation Store on the PC for some redesigned. It will be relaunched soon.

Sony PSP Firmware 4.05 released
Sony already pre-announced the new PSP Firmware 4.05 yesterday. 4.05 is now available for download from the Playstation Network.
For all PSP owners new music visualization features have been added. If you own a PSP-2000 with Wansegu Digital TV tuner in Japan then you also get some new features for recording footage from digital TV on your PSP.

PSP Firmware 4.05 announced
Sony announced on its official Playstation Blog that the next firmware 4.05 for the Sony PSP is coming soon.
Update:
PSP Firmware 4.05 released
The PSP Firmware 4.05 features include new visualizers for music playback, among other features. Sony is not getting more specific what these other features of 4.05 might be.

Hacked PSP Firmware now available for latest 4.01 System Update
Sony released the latest Sony PSP firmware 4.01 last week. PSP Homebrew hacker Dark Alex and the M33 Team have now released a new version of their custom firmware that allows it to run homebrew on the PSP to work with 4.01.

New Sony PSP Firmware 3.95 released
Sony releases a new firmware 3.95 for the Sony PSP. The new PSP firmware has two minor improvements, one of which fixes an issue I have had with remote play on the PS3 from the beginning.
With firmware 3.95 you can now choose not to shut down the Sony PS3 after ending remote play on the Sony PSP. I never understood, why the PS3 had to shut down automatically. Anyway it is fixed now.

New Sony PSP Firmware 3.93 brings Skype to Japan
Sony released a new firmware update for the Sony PSP today in Japan. The firmware 3.93 brings Skype functionality to Japan.
The rest of the world already got Skype with PSP firmware 3.90 in January.
Skype only works with the latest generation of the slim Sony PSP (PSP-2000).

Sony PSP Firmware 3.90 with Skype available
Sony released the Sony PSP firmware 3.90 with Skype support in the United States and Europe. As reported Sony delayed Skype for the Sony PSP in Japan.
The firmware 3.90 will enable all owners of the new slim Sony PSP (PSP 2000 series) to make and receive phone calls. Skype will not work with the first generation of the Sony PSP (PSP 1000).

Sony PSP Firmware 3.80 now also for the rest of the World
Sony already announced the firmware 3.80 for the Sony PSP in Japan last week.
It was not clear if Sony would release the firmware 3.80 outside of Japan, as it contains features for the DMB TV tuner, which is not available here.
The new Sony PSP firmware 3.80 brings internet radio players to all PSP users.

New Sony PSP Firmware 3.71 released
On Tuesday Sony released the firmware 3.70 for the Sony PSP in Japan. Today they released 3.71.
The new 3.71 only removes links to an idea contest Sony held in Japan. So for the rest of the world the next PSP update will be this one. The last one was firmware 3.52.
As reported the 3.70 firmware included new features like custom theme settings and scene search in video playback.

Sony released a new firmware for the Sony PSP today. We are now at firmware version 3.70.
The Sony PSP Firmware 3.70 includes a new custom theme setting where you can also change the look of the XMB bar.
When playing back video from the memory stick the new 3.70 firmware gives you scene search. There is also now a feature to play music during a photo slideshow.

Sony PS3 Firmware 1.90 and Sony PSP Firmware 3.52 available now
Sony has released the Sony PS3 firmware 1.90 and the Sony PSP firmware 3.52 in Japan.
Yesterday the details about the new firmware updates have been already published in the Japanese media.
Amongst the list of interesting PS3 improvements are custom XMB wallpaper, use of emoticons in messages, rearranging games stored on your PS3 hard drive, music CD frequencies support now 44.1, 88.2 and 176.4kHz sampling frequencies, 1080p 24Hz Blu-ray output can be forced, AVCHD support for stored video and added browser security.

New Sony PSP Firmware 3.51
Sony released a new firmware update for the Sony PSP just a couple of days after it released the last one.
On June 24th Sony released the firmware 3.50 with the faster CPU option. Today the company released firmware 3.51, which fixes a security vulnerability issue.
