First Amazon Countdown to Black Friday Deal: Sony PSP Go With $50 PSN Credit
I was already predicting when the PSPgo came out that new PSP would get a lower price or offered with special bundles to drive sales during the holiday shopping season. The UMD-less PSP is much more expensive than the PSP-3000 and therefore received controversial reviews.
Now Amazon is offering the Sony PSPgo with a $50 PlayStation Network Credit for $244.99 as their first item in the new Amazon Countdown to Black Friday 2009 sale in their video games section. This deal gives you some budget to buy digital content for your new PSPgo.

Sony PSP Go Ships Today
The wait is over the new Sony PSP Go (PSPgo) is launching today. You can buy the new Sony PSP Go now on Amazon.com for $249.99 in white or black.
The opinions about the PSP go are split. It is a cool new PSP that is smaller and is designed only for digital content delivery. But the price is considered high compared to the PSP-3000.
To get some direction you can refer to our PSPgo Review Round-up we posted earlier this week.

Is The PSP Go In Trouble?
On October 1st, Sony's new PSP Go goes on sale. U.S. customers shouldn't expect to have any trouble finding a Go at their local retailer, but overseas customers could run into some issues. This is due to the fact that a growing number of foreign retailers are backing away from the Go. Ars Technica reports that Nedgame in Holland will not be stocking the new PSP. In addition, it's rumored that both EBGames Australia and major Spanish retailers are considering dropping the new gadget.
The reason? The PSP Go isn't seen as very profitable for retailers, due to its all digital format. No games to sell in store means less total revenue for the store. That makes many retailers less likely to want to carry the Go at all. Shelf space is precious, especially as we near the holiday season. Retailers want to maximize profits, and the Go just isn't very good for that.

Sony PSP Go Unboxing Video Published
The new Sony PSP Go console is shipping on October 1st, but Engadget already received the brand new PSP and they published an unboxing video. For the first PSP Go reviews we apparently still have to wait till the end of the month.
The new Sony PSP Go sells for $249.99 and has no UMD drive, but 16GB of storage and a slider design. The original PSP sells for $169.99. I am actually quite sure that Sony needs to lower the price for the PSP Go to actually sell reasonable numbers of it.
