Systems get more and more power hungry, especially if you are trying to push them to the limits with the latest hardware components.

Massive Ultra Products 2000W ATX PSU

Topic:

Massive Ultra Products 2000W ATX PSU Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review PC’s are getting more power hungry with each new generation of hardware and the PSU is evolving to keep up with that demand. Currently the largest PSU’s are 1600W to 1800W, but Ultra Products is thinking bigger.

They are getting a new 2000W modular PSU ready with a footprint similar to that of the 1000W PC Power and Cooling model which is nearly twice as large as a typical ATX PSU. Ironically Ultra Products is quoted over at Guru3D as saying “"It's not so much that we believe personal computers today need as much as 2000W of power," explains George Ali, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Ultra Products. "In fact, most household circuits can't even provide the AC power this unit would require in order to put out 2000W of DC power. But there's the always-inevitable questions of 'Do I have enough power?' or 'Does my power supply have enough juice where my high end components need it.' That is why we have put together this 2000W unit; as the end all of power supplies as far as DC output goes. With as much as 1800W available on the 12V alone, there should be no concern whatsoever that there is enough power available for quad core, quad GPU or large drive arrays." Read more

Only For Ultra Geeks: Turbo Cool 510 PSU Review

Topic:

Only For Ultra Geeks: Turbo Cool 510 PSU Review Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review EnvyNews has a Review only suitable for Ultra Geeks!
If you are hard core about PC Power Supplies please feel free to read on:
PC Power & Cooling – not a name you hear every day, unless you’ve been reading Maximum PC/Boot magazine from day-one. PCP&P make the Maserati of PSUs – no doubt about it. They’re bloody expensive, but if uniform power-provision is key in your rig or co-located web-server, then you’ll want to read this review…
Here’s a snip:
“When it comes down to it, this is the most stable power supply I have ever had the chance to work with. It provides clean power no matter how hard the system is being pushed and no matter how dirty the input power is. Even plugged directly into my wall socket, I get stable power that does not fluctuate when the power demands in the room change. The optional inclusion of external voltage potentiometers, which allow for fine tuning of the 3.3V, 5V, and 12V rails, is extremely useful for enthusiasts that need to increase or decrease voltages to maintain a stable overclocked state.”
