Medis 24/7 Power Pack Fuel Cell Available October 15
Fuel Cell Store announced today that it has signed an agreement with NCS Power, a Medis authorized distributor, to be an online retailer for the Medis 24/7 Power Pack Fuel Cell.
The Medis 24/7 Power Pack is a small fuel cell designed to operate portable devices like cell phones and MP3 players. Medis says the fuel cell can power a device like an iPod for up to 80 hours of playtime and power a cell phone for up to 30 hours of talk time. Read more

Zune Car Pack FM Transmitter
Microsoft launched the new Zune PMPs today, yesterday the flash based Zune in 4GB, and 8GB varieties got their FCC approval. Also tossed in among the FCC exhibits was an approval for a Zune branded FM transmitter for use in the car.
Hard details on the FM transmitter were missing yesterday thanks to Microsoft’s request for confidentiality. Today the Zune Car Pack as the transmitter is officially known was released with an availability date of November 13. Read more

Medis to Demo Their 24/7 Power Pack Fuel Cell at IDF
Medis Technologies announced today that they will be showing off their fuel cell power pack for phones and other small gadgets at the Intel Developers Forum on September 18, 19 and 20th in San Francisco, California.
The Medis 24/7 Fuel Cell Power Pack for handheld devices will be demonstrated and a development program for a higher output 20 Watt fuel cell product will be talked about. The current fuel cell will deliver 20-30 hours of power to mobile devices and the 20 watt solution is being designed for laptop computer use. The current fuel cell device supplies 3.6 to 5.45 volts and up to 1 Watt of power and measures in at 3.8” x 2.67” x 1.44”. It is worn on the belt like a pager. Read more

Sun Microsystems, Inc. announced that it's open source office package Star Office is now part of the Google Pack.
StarOffice is Sun's commercial implementation of the popular open source office suite OpenOffice.org and supports Open Document Format (ODF). StarOffice is also compatible with Microsoft Office documents and is supported and indemnified by Sun.

Microsoft to release Vista Fix Packs
Microsoft is apparently prepping Vista Fix Packs with fixes that have been expected for a Vista SP1.
The Vista Fix Packs where made available to Windows Server 2008 testers. The original source has disappeared, but ZDNet is all over this.
The Vista Fix Packs are supposed to improve speed of hibernate, sleep and resume and file transfers. The memory management is supposed to also get some optimizations.

Sony PS3 Starter Pack announced
Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) today announced the availability of the Sony PS3 Starter Pack bundle in Europe.
The Sony PS3 Starter Pack includes a PS3 console, two first party games and two SIXAXIS wireless controllers, at €599 (~$825).
The Sony 60GB PS3 sells for €599 right now in Europe. The PS3 Starter Pack is pretty much the equivalent of the U.S. Sony PS3 price-cut when you calculate the value of two games and the extra SIXAXIS controller.

Jet Pack International Working on Pack with 19 Minute Flight time
Man when I was a kid I wanted a jet pack so bad, and honestly I still do. I mean who wouldn’t want a jet pack? Jet Pack International has them for sale for a cool $250,000. These same people had the OCC guys build them a chopper on American chopper not too long back.
They show two models of jet packs on their website, the Jet Pack H202 is powered by H2O2 naturally and has a mere 33 second flight time and a max speed of 70mph. Moving up a notch is the Jet Pack H202-Z powered by the same fuel but boasting a 43 second flight time at 77 seconds. Read more

I heard several stories that small kids tend to hit each other while playing the Wii with the wiimote. It is a genius idea to offer a foam Sports Pack for the Nintendo Wii to avoid injuries.
Performance Designed Products (Pelican) introduced the Nerf Sports Pack at the Toy Fair in NY. It consists of a bat, tennis racket and golf club, similar to the plastic sports pack we reported a while ago.
