The suit alleges that ASUS has infringed on IBM patents with certain ASUS products.

Asustek Computer (Asus) has posted a comment via the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE) saying that the company does not think that any violation has occurred and that its attorneys are looking into the situation. Read more

The long running lawsuit between Verizon and Vonage has been resolved. The suit originated over Verizon alleging Vonage had illegally used several Verizon patents in its VOIP phone service.

Vonage has always maintained that it had not used Verizon technology in its services. In March of 2007, a jury found that Vonage had infringed on three Verizon patents and awarded Verizon $58 million in damages. Read more

Electronics are expensive and that makes them targets for thieves. Apple is trying to find ways to prevent gadget theft and has files a patent on a system that would prevent iPhone's and iPod's from charging if connected to a non approved cable.

The part I don’t get about this system is how exactly you would override such a device. What if I lost my charger and had to buy another one? What if I was at a friend’s house and wanted to recharge from their charger? Read more
