Pentax Unveils K-x DSLR Camera

Pentax has unveiled a new DSLR camera called the K-x that packs lots of features into one of the coolest looking and most colorful DSLR cameras I have ever seen. The K-x will be offered in black and white colors and a limited edition of the camera will be offered in navy and red colors. The red camera is the coolest looking DSLR I have seen in a long time.

The cam will sell for $649.95 for the body and a DA L 18-55mm lens and the kit is aimed at first time DSLR buyers. The cam has a 12.4MP CMOS sensor and sensor-shift shake reduction. The rear LCD is a 2.7-inch unit with Live View and Face Detection. Pentax also crammed in HD video recording capability at 720p and 24 frames per second with any lens. The cam gets its power from plain old AA lithium batteries, which is a bonus in some minds. Read more

Pentax has been making digital cameras for a long time now and during the poor global economy it is one of the manufacturers that frequently offers nice discounts on its cameras to get consumers to buy. Pentax has announced its latest round of discounts.

The Pentax X70 with its massive 24x optical zoom lens and 12MP resolution is being offered with a $30 instant rebate making the price $369.95. Those looking for a DSLR can get the Pentax K2000 for $499.95 after a $50 instant rebate. Read more

Pentax Offers Instant Rebates on Cameras

Pentax has announced that it will be offering instant rebates on some of its cameras that will be effective from April 3rd to April 11th. The instant rebates will range from $20 to $50 depending on the camera model. Discounts are being offered on DSLR and point-and-shoot cameras.

Among the products being discounted is the Optio E70, which gets a $20 discount bringing its price to $119.95 after rebate. The Optio P70 also gets a $20 discount while the Optio W60 gets a $50 discount bringing the prices to $179.95 and $249.95 respectively. Read more

Pentax Unveils the X70 Megazoom Camera

Pentax has announced a new point-and-shoot digital camera with a massive 24x zoom lens. The lens covers a focal range from 26mm wide-angle to 624mm super telephoto. The camera also features a intelligent Zoom setting that allows zooming up to 3900mm. I suspect that is a new name for digital zoom and that image quality would be greatly affected when used.

On the rear of the camera is a 2.7-inch LCD and the X70 has an electronic viewfinder. The massive zoom levels require image stabilization to keep things clear and the X70 has image sensor shift shake reduction built-in. Read more

Pentax Drops K20D DSLR Price

Pentax has announced price reductions on the K20D DSLR camera. The prices of different versions of the camera have been cut by $200. The K20D body only is now available for $799.95. The K20D kit with a DA 18-55mm II lens kit retails for $879.95.

The K20D kit with the 16-45mm lens retails for $1199.95. The features of the camera remain the same and include 14.6MP resolution, a dust proof, and weather resistant body, shake reduction and more. The camera's rear LCD is a 2.7-inch unit offering Live View. Read more

Pentax Cuts Price on K Series Cameras

Pentax has announced price cuts on its entire range of K-series DSLR cameras. The price cuts are effective now on the K20D SLR body and all K20D kits with lenses. An in store instant credit of $100 is being offered to buyers on any K20D configuration along with a free three-year warranty. When bought with the K20D the battery grip is also being offered for $19.95. The offers end on March 31st.

The K2000 is also getting discounts with the K2000 flash kit selling for $599.99 that includes the K2000 body, lens and auto flash. The K2000 two lens kit will sell for $649.99, the single lens kit will retail for $549.95, and the body only sells for $499.95. Read more

Sweet White Pentax K2000 DSLR Kit Available

When it comes to DSLR cameras, you typically get to choose from black or silver colors. Many times, there is no color choice at all and you get black only, as is the case with most of the Nikon DSLR cameras. Pentax has a new model of its K2000 DSLR that allows users a new color option. Pentax already unveiled the white DSLR back in 2008.

The K2000 is available for pre-order in a slick looking white color. In white, it looks exactly like the camera an Imperial Storm Trooper would use to shoot images on assignment. The camera includes a pair of white lenses in 18-55 and 50-200. Read more

Pentax K20D DSLR Gets Price Reduction

Pentax announced price reductions on some of its cameras today including one of its most popular DSLR cameras. The Pentax K20D DSLR camera body has been reduced to $999.95 and features 14.6-megapixel resolution. Other features of the K20D include weather-resistant design, three-step dust removal system, and the PRIME image processor. Shake reduction is also built into the camera.

Pentax also cut the price of its Optio W60 point-and-shoot digital camera to $299.95. The W60 is a lightweight camera that is fully waterproof and has 10MP resolution along with a 5x zoom lens. Pentax Optio E60 Budget Camera Introduced

Pentax has introduced a new digital camera with lots of megapixels at a low price. The Pentax Optio E60 has 10.1-megapixels and a 3x optical zoom lens. The E60 lens has a wide angle of view of 32mm to 96mm in 35mm format.

Other features of the camera include Auto Picture, Face Recognition, High Sensitivity Digital Shake Reduction, and a Green mode that sets exposure, sensitivity and other features with the touch of one button. Pentax Launches Optio V20 Camera

Pentax announced its latest point-and-shoot camera called the Optio V20 yesterday. The camera uses a compact design and features a 5x zoom lens. The image sensor is 8MP and the camera takes advantage of a large 3-inch LCD screen.

Portrait optimization features are built in as well. Face recognition detects and focuses on faces automatically and sets correct exposure. Smile Capture detects when the subject smiles and releases the shutter automatically. Read more
