Microsoft's Project Pink: Doomed?
Late last month, the first details of Project Pink, Microsoft's first smartphone, leaked out to the press. Responses varied from apathy over the design, to excitement at the idea of a Microsoft branded mobile. Now however, it looks like the whole project could be on the edge of being scrapped. According to "anonymous sources" that talked to MobileCrunch, "Project Pink" was never really meant for release anyway.
Apparently, Microsoft started the project as a way to provide a 'carrot' of sorts to the Windows Mobile 7 team. The goal was to "upset them into competing". The source states that much of the Sidekick team that was originally hired in 2008 to build the phone has been fired, and that there are currently no designers left who understand how to finish the product. Neither of the new smartphones are ready for production yet, and the touchscreen on the "Turtle" is said to be totally unusable.

Ten One Design Creates Pink iPhone Stylus
Once in a very great while, a press release comes to my desk for a product that is both ridiculous, and adorable. Today is one of those days. Ten One Design has just announced the launch of the Hot Pink Pogo Stylus, and Pogo Sketch. Basically, they're shiny hot pink styluses designed to help women with long fingernails use touchscreen devices.
Ten One has definitely 'found a need' and filled it with this device. I'm not sure how many women with enormous fingernails use touchscreen devices, but there must be quite a few. The Pogo Stylus and Sketch have sold well enough among women that Ten One decided to add hot pink to the line-up. Now you can choose between Hot Pink, Black, Silver, and Gunmetal.

Pink To Be Microsoft and Verizon iPhone Killer?
Rumors again have surfaced about Microsoft’s mysterious "Pink", this time claiming that the software giant is in talks with Verizon to release "Pink" as an iPhone killer mobile device next year, according to reports from the Wall Street Journal.
Microsoft will apparently design both the software and hardware, and farm out the production to a third party. Microsoft’s Windows Marketplace for Mobile will serve as their version of Apple’s App Store. The phone will feature the Windows Mobile OS with what the report refers to as “new software capabilities”. The report makes no mention if the OS is expected to be Windows Mobile 6.5, which is expected for a Q4 release.
