Sony Playstation Network reaches 1 million Accounts in Japan
Sony announces that the Playstation Network has reached 1 million users in Japan alone.
The Sony Playstation Store has 400,000 unique Playstation Network users per month. Since the launch at the end of 2006, 17 million content items have been downloaded.

Sony informs about Sony Playstation Network Security Issue
Sony published a notice informing Sony Playstation Network users about potential unauthorized access to personal information.
Sony says it is possible that the passwords of a small percentage of PLAYSTATION Network users may have been changed through unauthorized access, making it possible to view users’ personal information and/or use the Wallet for the PLAYSTATION Store.

Sony to provide E3 Summit 2007 Content on Playstation Network
Sony informs that they will provide new game trailers and content during the E3 Business & Media summit on the Playstation Network.
Microsoft has already a little tradition on providing coverage and content during the E3 on the Xbox live platform. Of course Microsoft is also at it again this year.
The focus of this year’s condensed E3 is most likely just on games. There are close to no expectations on new video game hardware announcements.

Sony launches Playstation Network Pre-Paid Card
Sony announces in Japan a Playstation Network Pre-Paid Card.
The Sony Playstation 'Ticket' will be available beginning of June at over 52,000 post office ATM machine throughout Japan.
Consumers can choose between a 1,000 Yen, 3,000 Yen, 5,000 Yen or 10,000 Yen card.
The cards contain a 12 digit code that can be used on the Playstation Network to pay for games and other offers in the Playstation Store.

Sony Playstation Network Sign-up Not Available on Playstation Store Yet
We reported a couple days ago that Sony would let users who did not get their PS3 yet to sign-up for a Sony Playstation Network account today.
Apparently this has been delayed reports Sony's Three Speech site. So there goes your cool screen name. Get used to the idea of being known as DidNotGetPS3AtLaunch944944455667.

Playstation Network PS3 Master IDs To be Available on Playstation Store
You like your cool gamer tag or IM nickname? You want to have it on the Sony Playstation Network as well?
Apparently Sony is offering Sony PS3 master ID sign-up on the Playstation store starting on November 17th for those who do not then have a Sony PS3 console.
This would be a nice move and would give everybody the chance to grab a cool account name for the Playstation Network. This not only is good for European. It will be good for all the US Sony fanboys who will not score a PS3 on the November 17th launch day.

More Sony Playstation Network Details
Sony issued a press-release with some details on the Sony Playstation network launch on November 11th in Japan.
The icon for Playstation Network on the PS3 will look like the image above. It features the four iconic Playstation action button symbols.
The first Sony PS3 multi-player games are Ridge Racer 7 and Resistance: Fall of Man.
There will be several games as trail version available for the Sony PS3 and also the for the Sony PSP.

Sony Playstation Network
Sony announces details about the Sony Playstation Network dubbed online service for the Sony PS3 and other Sony consoles.
The Sony Playstation Network will be free of charge for the basic features offered.
Sony features the XMB™ (Xross Media Bar) user interface known from the PSP also on the Playstation Network navigation.
The feature-set of the Playstation Network looks very comprehensive featuring Web browser, voice chat, video chat, download game content, store/view photos and videos, download and listen to music and shop online.
If all that works, the Sony Playstation network can compete with the Xbox Live service.
