The dominating family owners Porsche und Piech have apparently found a basis to work together instead of buying each other.

The bigger question is if Porsche fans can take even more Volkswagen in their Porsche car. A Porsche is a highly emotional car and already shares lots of technology with Volkswagen cars and Audi cars. Read more

Porsche decided to hold a press conference for the car 1,394 feet up on the 94th floor of the venue.

The building owners no doubt looked at them oddly when they first said what the plan was. To get the large Porsche up the elevator required some specialized ramps, bravery, and a really strong cargo elevator. Read more

At the Geneva Motor show Ruf showed the next generation of their electric Porsche called eRuf Greenster.

Today a press-release hit the wire detailing the upcoming plans for the electric Porsche featuring technology now from Siemens and LTC/Gaia for the batteries.

Siemens Corporate Technology has developed an adapted power train for the eRuf Greenster. A preliminary version of the concept for the innovative eDrive from Siemens will already be on display in Geneva. While the vehicle to be presented in Geneva is still equipped with a central motor with a power output of 270 kW and 950 Nm torque, the following version will be produced as a small series with Ruf as a double-motor concept with the innovative integral eDrive. Diesel Porsche Cayenne finally coming Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review How long did that take? Porsche finally jumps across their shadow and announces a Diesel version of its Cayenne SUV. Starting February 2009, the Porsche will offer a Cayenne with a diesel engine.
The advantage of a Diesel engine is that uses way less gas. Especially the deviation from the average consumption is not as high as with gasoline and you get a lot of torque.
The Diesel Porsche Cayenne will come with a three-liter V6 turbo diesel engine with 240 hp (176 kW) supplied by Audi AG, a subsidiary of the VW Group. The average consumption of the Cayenne Diesel is 9.3 liters per 100 kilometers (~25mpg), with CO2 at 244g/km. Read more

Porsche Carma Concept Design Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review French design students at the Institut Supérieur de Design developed a very hot design for a Porsche 911 inspired car dubbed Carma.

The design takes special emphasis on aerodynamics and is able to drop the Porsche typical spoiler in the rear.
It is not known if Porsche took notice of this design. It aesthetically pleases me so I could imagine Porsche cars looking like that in the future. Read more

Porsche Cayenne Hybrid at IAA 2007 Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review Porsche will apparently exhibit their current Porsche Cayenne Hybrid prototype at the IAA 2007 in Frankfurt next month.

Porsche announced that they were working on a Hybrid Cayenne back at the IFA 2005. Porsche uses a parallel concept for their hybrid drive. Currently they use a V6 engine that works seamlessly with an electric engine powered by a block of batteries.

The fuel efficiency of the Porsche Cayenne with Hybrid drive is currently 24 miles per gallon (9,8l/100km). The final version of the Porsche Cayenne Hybrid is supposed to be more efficient. Read more

The GT2 is the strongest car that Porsche will be offering. Of course there are Porsches with more HP available today from tuning companies.

The huge vents in the front and the large spoiler in the back are the most obvious design elements. Porsche put in a new super fast traction control that is used in Formula 1 to bring the 530hp directly onto the street right from the start.

The new Porsche GT2 needs 3.7s to reach 100km/h (62mph) and max. speed is 329 km/h (~204mph). Read more

The Transsyberia Rally will take place from August 2nd to 17th and is 3,850 miles long. It starts in Moscow and ends in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Read more

Then at a starting price of $300,000 they are more appropriately called yachts.

The boat is called the Fearless Yacht and is a 28 foot long ship powered by a 525-horsepower Viper engine and it is capable of speeds of up to 88 mph. Porsche also has plans to build models of up to 150 feet long. Read more
