U.S. Publisher takes Action over Harry Potter Leak
By Michelle Nichols
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Copies of the final Harry Potter book have already been
shipped to customers by one U.S. online retailer, U.S. publisher Scholastic said
on Wednesday, and purported copies of the novel have flooded the Internet.
Scholastic Corp. said it was taking legal action against book distributor Levy
Home Entertainment and DeepDiscount.com for breaching an embargo preventing the
seventh Harry Potter book from being sold in America before 12:01 a.m./0401 GMT
on Saturday. The publisher said Levy delivered the books to the online retailer.
People started receiving copies of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" on
Tuesday, but the number of copies shipped only made up "around one one-hundredth
of one percent" of the 12 million copies due to go on sale, Scholastic said.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows leaked through Photos of Book Pages?
Photos of what seems to be from the actual Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows book that is going to hit shelves on July 21st (in 3 days) leaked on the web.
Several hundred photos of pages of Potter and the Deathly Hallows are distributed through P2P services and web sites.
It is not sure if the photos are actually real or an elaborate hoax. I have not seen anyone leaking who dies in the last Potter book yet.

Canary Wireless Digital Hotspotter LCD Wi-fi Detector Review
Canary Wireless LLC sent us their Digital Hotspotter HS10 gadget for review.
The Digital Hotspotter announced by Canary Wireless in November 2004 seems to be still the only Wi-fi detector with an LCD display on the market. The LCD display is great to have on a Wi-fi network detector as it directly tells you the strength and more important if its secure or open. Other information displayed are SSID and channel.
I tested the Canary Wireless Digital Hotspotter at home and outside. It picked up my network without problems. I just have to push a button and it scans for networks. If the first one displayed is not usable another push of the button brings the next one if available.

Harry Potter Mania The 5th Time Around
Yesterday midnight the 5th book of the Harry Potter Series went on Sale -- you did not miss it did you ?
The NY Daily News writes:
"Fans cheered and applauded at Toys "R" Us in Times Square as Grammy Award-winner Jim Dale, creator of the 134 voices for the Potter books on tape, did the countdown to sales time. But the crowd was so big, only 100 people at a time were let in." NYDailyNews.
Oh by the way the NYDailyNews got hit with a 100 Mio. USD law-suit, because they published details from the book, which they bought in stores that mistakenly put it on sale to early. See this Fox News Story
It is interesting that a book can be as exciting as a new Star Wars
Movie release or a new Game Console.
Me personally i only have anticipation for the upcoming Half Life 2.
