70-60% of Sony PS3 Power still untapped
As we know Sony always preaches that the PS3 is going to stay for 10 years. In an interview with game developer Naughty Dog over at the ThreeSpeech, Richard Lemarchand says that the company thinks that they still just use 30-40% of the power of the PS3.
I just hope that is true, as I am still expecting much more to see from the CELL CPU of the PS3.

TiVo Launches Power||Watch Ratings
TiVo launched a new service in conjunction with Starcom called Power||Watch that provides second-by-second ratings services for broadcasters. The service takes demographics segments from 20,000 homes that use TiVo hardware.
The service provides the broadcasters with information on what commercials viewers watch and what commercials they skip. TiVo says that the viewers in the passive panel have agreed to let it use personally identifiable viewing data to compile the findings. Read more

2K Sports MLB Power Pros 2008 Now Available
2K Sports and Konomi announced today that the popular Japanese baseball video game called MLB Power Pros 2008 is now available to purchase. The game isn’t like a real baseball game and the players look more like Wii sports characters.
The game does feature real players made into little cartoon characters and real teams though. The game has easy to use controls and let's fans act as general manager of their own team. Players can trade, sign free agents, coordinate practice schedules, purchase new equipment and call players up from minor leagues, or send them back down. The game is available for the PS2 and the Wii. Read more

InvenSense IDG-600 Powers Nintendo Wii MotionPlus
At E3 this week Nintendo announced a new MotionPlus accessory that promises much more fluid motion recognition by the Wii console. InvenSense announced today that its IDG-600 multi-axis MEMS rate gyroscope is the brains behind the MotionPlus controller.
InvenSense says that the IDG-600 has started shipping to Nintendo in mass quantities for the production of the accessory. InvenSense says that conventional MEMS gyroscopes are larger size, use lots of power and cost a lot. Its new silicon based MEMS gyroscopes are smaller, low cost and need less power. All requirements for a gaming accessory attached to the Wii remote running off AA batteries. Read more

Samsung Announces new Low-Power Processor for PND Market
Samsung announced today its latest low-power application processors for the PND market. The processors are built on 65nm process and the line includes the S3C2450 and the S3C2416. Both the processors are built on the ARM9 core with speeds on up to 533Mhz.
PNDs need an efficient and fast processor for storage of large maps and real-time traffic reports. Samsung says the processors support a wide variety of memory types including MLC and SLC flash, low-power SDRAM, DDR and DDR2. Read more

Ricoh to install Solar and Wind powered Billboard at Times Square
Japanese company Ricoh announced to install a solar and wind powered billboard at Time Square in New York by December.
The billboard would be powered by 4 wind power generators and 45 solar cell panels.
The generated "Green" power would surpass 98 kilowatt-hours per day.

RazorBook 400 Powered by Windows CE Launches
3K Computers has announced a new version if its RazorBook 400 mini-notebook computer that runs on the Windows CE operating system. The tiny notebook uses a 7-inch TFT LCD and has a full size keyboard. The system running on Windows CE retails for $299.
Storage for the small notebook is 4 GB of flash memory and like the other RazorBook 400 systems, the CE powered machine is designed to boot up in 8 seconds. 3K says the small, low-cost notebook is perfect for students or mobile professionals looking for a cheap Internet appliance. Read more

Dell has a new video chat application that is powered by SightSpeed. The Dell Video Chat program is bundled with the new Dell Studio laptops and allows people to chat via the computer and see who they are talking too.

World’s First Power Assisted Luggage Debuts
If you are traveling on business or with lots of gear, traveling light isn’t really an option. Pulling your bags through the air port or to your hotel can be a real pain. A new bag has been announced today that claims to be the world’s first power assisted luggage.

Japanese Mitsubishi Chemicals and Sumitomo Chemical work on spreadable electronics. The molecular soup would have OLED and Solar cell building blocks that could be spread or even sprayed ultra-thin onto walls or gadgets.
