Sales of PC Gaming Hardware Predicted to Hit $27B in 2010
JPR has released a new report that predicts sales of PC gaming hardware will reach $27 billion in 2010. The global PC hardware gaming market is expected to grow by $1.2 billion this year, a 5.9% increase from 2008.
The increase is due to an increased demand for enthusiast, performance, and mainstream hardware influenced by the desire to play games on the PC. The PC gaming market is set to grow by 30% in 2010 due in part to delays in buying systems in 2008/2009 as users waited for the economy to improve. Read more

Condé Nast Creating Digital Wired For iTablet
Talk about jumping the gun just a little. Condé Nast, publishers of Wired and seventeen other magazines, are working on porting their nerdiest title to the iTablet. All Things Digital reports that the company intends to have this new version of Wired ready by the middle of next year.
No, before you ask, Condé Nast hasn't been privy to any insider meetings with Apple that have given them proof of the iTablet's existence. They admit openly that the company will not even admit that it has plans for such a device. Despite this, they're chugging along and working with Adobe to create a publishing tool for the new magazine reader format.

The Speakal iPom: Flower Powered Music
Today Speakal announced the launch of the iPom apple shaped speaker. This new gadget can accept music directly from SD cards or USB drives, and can also connect to your media player via 3.5mm headphone jack. It is compatible with the Zune, iPod, iPhone, CD players, computers, and gaming consoles.
The iPom's design deserves a word. The base is shaped like an apple and contains a 12 Watt subwoofer. The device's two speakers are each contained in a separate flower. Users can remove the flowers from their stand and position them in order to create a surround sound effect. The design looks a little silly, but the idea is pretty neat.

First Amazon Countdown to Black Friday Deal: Sony PSP Go With $50 PSN Credit
I was already predicting when the PSPgo came out that new PSP would get a lower price or offered with special bundles to drive sales during the holiday shopping season. The UMD-less PSP is much more expensive than the PSP-3000 and therefore received controversial reviews.
Now Amazon is offering the Sony PSPgo with a $50 PlayStation Network Credit for $244.99 as their first item in the new Amazon Countdown to Black Friday 2009 sale in their video games section. This deal gives you some budget to buy digital content for your new PSPgo.

Nokia Rumored To Buy Palm Triggers Stock Surge
A rumor that Nokia would be buying Palm triggered an 8% rise in Palm's stock yesterday. This is not a new rumor, but it is still not getting more believable.
It would only make sense for Nokia to buy Palm if they completely change their smartphone strategy and set everything on webOS. This is a risky gamble that could pay of big but also fail really big time. Nokia just made a reasonable move with the Nokia N900 Mameo Linux.

Apple Slate Has Reappeared As A Name For The Apple Tablet
The Apple Tablet rumor is still strong, but because the launch is expected for 2010 it got a bit quite. Over the weekend the potential name of the Apple Tablet appeared. According to 9to5Mac Bill Keller, Executive Editor of The NY Times, mentioned Apple Slate as an example of devices in a speech. It could be a slip, but it also could mean nothing.
See, back in 2007, the Apple Tablet rumor already existed and some referred to it as Apple Slate. I also found on Google that some people just like to refer to a Tablet computer as a Slate.
