Remote Controlled Flying Dinosaur
I am a big fan of RC toys, especially those that fly. Firebox has a sweet remote control Pterosaur that flaps its wings to stay aloft, presumably somewhat like a real flying dinosaur would.
I’m not familiar with a pterosaur myself, but this is a cool looking flying toy. Like many of the other flying RC toys I have looked at, like the PiccoZ, the Pterosaur has a rechargeable battery that gets its juice from the controller itself. Read more

Lightsaber Remote is Way Cooler than the Phaser Remote
Ah the ubiquitous universal remote is coming of age. First we get every basement dwelling Trekkie geeks dream, the Star Trek Phaser Remote. Now we get the other half of sci fi geekdom covered, Star Wars fans.
The controls for power, channel and volume are worked into the lightsaber design and the whole thing looks pretty cool to me. No word on if it will control more than one device. Read more

Microsoft SideShow Remote Control for Windows Media Center
I admit that I haven’t been overly impressed at the thought of Vista SideShow. Who cares if your bag can let you know you have email, I mean who wants strangers reading all their porn spam? RICAVISION has an idea for Sideshow that I do find very appealing though, they have grafted it onto a media center remote.
Now I can sit across the room while I watch my favorite flicks and still read my RSS feeds and check my email. I can also use the remote to schedule recordings with Media Center as well. The SideShow Remote control is a Bluetooth IR+ Class 1 device with a 100 meter operating range. In addition to the features I already mentioned you can also use the remote to browse your music library by album, artist and genre. You can also select recorded TV programs with the remote by program name, episode name, program summary, channel, date recorded length and a snap shot. Read more

Star Trek Phaser Remote is Geekalicious
True geeks, especially those into Star Trek aren’t satisfied with a mortal remote, even one as cool at the Harmony 890, no they need something more well, something more geeky. The hard core Trekkie out there who already owns the Star Trek Voice Operated Dimmer can now own perhaps the coolest of all Star Trek gadgets, the phaser remote.
Not only does the remote look very similar to the original Star Trek phaser, it even has licensed sounds from the original series from Paramount Pictures. When you press the buttons to change channels you get real sounds from Star Trek. Read more

Remote Control Wrangler for the Serious Dorks
If you tend to loose your remotes with alarming frequency here is a solution that will help keep them close, and possibly get your butt kicked at the same time. The Remote Control Wrangler is a headband and chin strap that Velcro’s to your remotes.
Yes that means that the remotes are stuck to your head and big ones may well obscure your vision, but hey if it’s stuck to your head you are sure to know where the remote is. Oddly enough this “invention” is dead on for a medical device I am quite familiar with from my pre-geek career. Read more
