LONDON (Reuters) - For the Olympic movement, the digital revolution is armed
with a double-edged sword -- it has lured the younger generation away from sport
but could open up the Olympic experience to a far wider audience.

Victorious Boxers: Revolution Now Available on Wii
This past July I reported that Victorious boxers: Revolution was coming to the Wii in America. Today XSEED Games announced the game is now available in the U.S. and carries a “T” for teen rating.
The MSRP for the game is $39.99 and the game has realistic boxing action. I would assume that means you actually punch and dodge punches like you do in Wii Sports Boxing. Those not wanting a work out can opt to use the classic controller for sedentary game play. Read more

Quote from the Mouse review:
"Logitech holds the crown for the best mice and keyboards available for Windows today. The endless array of choices, from the corded to cordless and gamer to casual user, has made us ask, “What else is left?” How can something as simple as a mouse undergo so many revisions and still offer something fresh?
Enter the Revolution MX and VX laser mice. Differences between the MX and VX versions are discussed at the end of the review, as we had both on hand to tinker with.

Logitech MX Revolution Review
Logitech is a maker of some great computer peripherals from game controllers to keyboards and mice. Over at Everything USB I took a look at the new Logitech MX Revolution mouse and found it to be quite revolutionary. The coolest feature of the MX Revolution is the free-wheel scroll mode. This mode allows the scroll wheel to spin freely, for up to 10 seconds I found in testing. On some pages the free-wheel scroll wouldn’t work but overall it was a great mouse.

Win To Be On Stage at E3 2006 with Reggie To Play Nintendo Revolution
Nintendo and AOL run the "First to Play Sweepstakes", that gives the lucky winner the honor to be the first to play the Nintendo Revolution live on stage at the Nintendo media event on May 9th.
Three winners will be drawn. They will fly to LA and get pampered. At random one of the three winners will be called on stage (I guess by Nintendo's Reggie) to play the Nintendo Revolution.
You can enter the sweepstakes here.

Nintendo Revolution Mumbling
This week gamer news site IGN ran a story revealing some possible facts about the horsepower of the Nintendo Revolution.
Apparently IBM's "Broadway" CPU is clocked at 729MHz inside the Nintendo Revolution and the ATI's "Hollywood" GPU clocks in at 243MHz.
The "Hollywood" chip includes GPU, DSP, I/O Bridge and 3MBs of texture memory. Of course all this information is unofficial.
The "other" gamer news site Gamespot has just published a story that an analyst predicts that the Nintendo Revolution will take the lead in 2010. On the other hand it’s April 1st.

Nintendo Revolution Is Still Called Revolution
There was a rumor that Nintendo might change the name of their upcoming next generation console at the GDC 06, but Nintendo President Satoru Iwata still calls it Revolution.
The Nintendo keynote did not reveal any real big news, especially nothing earth-shaking new about the Nintendo Revolution. Mr. Iwata mostly rallied the game developer community to be creative and adopt the new controller concept to create new games.
One interesting announcement was that the Revolution will also play retro games from Sega Genesis and the TurboGrafx console. If you do not know the TurboGrafx console, neither do I. It was actually released in 1989 in the US by NEC. Read this Wikipedia entry for a background on this console.

GDC 06: New Nintendo Revolution Name?, Cheap Microsoft Xbox 360 SDK?
The Game Developers Conference 2006 is underway in San Jose California.
On Thursday Nintendo President Satoru Iwata will hold a keynote. CVG reports about a 'whisper' that the final Nintendo Revolution name will be confirmed in the keynote. This could of course just mean that it will be Revolution. I guess some revolution domain holders are a bit nervous right now.
Another rumor raised by CNET is about Microsoft releasing a cheap Xbox 360 developer kit later today. This kit would only cost $100. Opening up the Xbox 360 to individual developers could be huge. Having great developer support was already one of the key reasons for the success of Windows. Just imagine freeware and shareware games flooding Xbox Live - this could be huge.

Sony PS3 Delay Could be Huge for the Nintendo Revolution
The Sony PS3 delay announced this week is mostly seen as big opportunity for Microsoft to sell more Xbox 360 consoles. Assuming Nintendo would be able to release the Revolution in the next couple of months, they could benefit maybe even more. Nintendo has announced a while ago that it will launch the Nintendo Revolution by Thanksgiving in the US. Nintendo’s comment this week to the Sony PS3 delay is that it does not change their strategy as the next generation consoles are not competing. I think it should matter for the strategy and the consoles do compete.
Many gamers are looking for something new. The Sony PS3 is marketed as a totally new gaming experience achieved through the latest technology. If that will be holding true is a different question. Nintendo positions the Nintendo Revolution also as a totally new game experience with a new controller concept.
At first I was not convinced about the new motion ‘remote control’ input device, but now I am actually very curious to try it myself. And I think many gamers out there would be shifting their interest away from the PS3 to the Nintendo Revolution just because it has the potential of a new gaming paradigm.

Microsoft Shows Dance Dance Revolution User Interface
Microsoft Research shows a Dance Dance Revolution style user interface at the Microsoft TechFest.
With the Microsoft Computer Foot Pad you can 'walk' through your email and photo library.
This is just one out of 150 concepts presented at the Microsoft TechFest - a kind of internal idea fair.
To include feet in interacting with a computer is interesting. Lots of other devices have a foot interface, e.g. Cars, Sewing machines, etc.

Nintendo Revolution Launches Globally
Nintendo Europe says that the Nintendo Revolution will launch globally in 2006.
The launch of the Nintendo Revolution would be similar to the global Xbox 360 launch. I hope Nintendo is making enough consoles unlike Microsoft. Nintendo's next generation console is said to be rather low cost compared the Xbox 360 and PS3. The E3 Expo 2006 in May will hopefully provide all the details.
