Internet Explorer Loses Ground To Firefox, Safari & Chrome
The first browser wars saw Microsoft's Internet Explorer devour and digest the once-great Netscape browser. In the ten years since then, the various versions of IE have maintained a steady dominance across the market. It's only been over the last few years that serious challengers have started to arrive. Google's Chrome browser and Mozilla's Firefox have both risen up to compete with Internet Explorer.
In fact, they're doing more than just competing. They're winning. In March 2009 the combined market share of IE6, 7, and 8 was 65.8%, a commanding lead. But now, just three months later, Internet Explorer's overall share has dropped to 54.4%.

Safari 4: 11 Million Downloads, 3 Days
The WWDC conference was only four days ago, and it's been just three days since the launch of Safari 4. In those 72 hours, Apple's newest version of the Safari web browser has been downloaded over 11 million times. Six million of those downloads were from Windows users, which makes Apple's feat all the more impressive.
Safari 4 has been such a success due in no small part to its Nitro engine, which allows the browser to load JavaScript significantly faster than Firefox or Internet Explorer 8. Apple's browser has a reputation for stability and speed, which is why it's done so well even among people who aren't Apple users. Sales of Safari 4 are only expected to increase when Snow Leopard hits next week, since the browser works as a 64 bit application in the Apple OS.

Safari 4 is Love at first Sight
Apple just released the beta version of Safari 4. I just installed the 26MB download and Safari 4 has a big chance to get me off of Microsoft IE 8. The new Top Sites and Coverflow Browser history are really very sexy to look at and to use.
The pseudo 3D and mirror effects look great and the browser is very fast in displaying the new UI gimmick.
The new Top Sites feature learns your favorite sites from your surfing behavior. I surfed 3 times to I4U News and now it shows in my Top Sites that is prefilled with Apple's picks.
