Amazon.com One Day Electronics Sale Counters Early Black Friday Deals Of Walmart
Alright, deal-hunters, if you're in the mood to start your Christmas shopping a little early, Amazon.com is throwing a 24-hour sale today. The first two deals of the morning have already sold out, but if you visit here you can get ready to pounce when the next deal opens up at 10:00 AM, PST. Amazon won't say just what the next deal is, but they do claim it's a “perfect fit for your home cinema”.
Black Friday 2009 seems to think the deal could be an extra-low price on an HDTV. We do know that the deal after that, which comes online at 12:00 PM PST, is a $100 Amazon Promotional Code with the purchase of an Xbox 360 Arcade. They offered the same deal earlier this morning, and all the available codes were nabbed within minutes. This is the same Xbox 360 Arcade deal Walmart offers in stores today
If you want to get in on this deal, you'll need to be fast.

Windows 7 Sales Eclipse Vista By 234%
If you ever needed more proof of how awful an operating system Vista was, this is it. The NPD group has just sent out a press release stating that the first few days of Windows 7 sales have been 234% higher than the first few days of Vista sales were. Revenue was also much improved. Total dollar sales are up 82% from Vista to Win 7. The reason for the disparity between sales growth and actual revenue growth is being attributed to the early discounts on pre-sales and Microsoft's failure to heavily promote the Ultimate edition of 7.
I've been using Windows 7 for the last two weeks and, I have to say, it's a solid OS. That said, I think these numbers owe more to the piss-poor nature of Windows Vista than they do to the strengths of Windows 7. I'm beginning to wonder if Microsoft's grand strategy might be to release awful operating systems in order to make their decent releases seem exceptional. But that's probably crazy-talk. Probably.

Windows 7 Leads To PC Sales Surge
The Windows 7 launch was bound to do good things for PC sales. Vista was awful and Win 7 has been lauded by reviewers as the best new Microsoft OS since XP. No one will be surprised to hear that last month's launch lead to a bump in PC sales. What is surprising, is just how much they bumped up by.
Electronista reports that a Morgan Stanley analyst has come out with the first sales data on the Windows 7 launch. NPD sales data points to a 40% boost in PC sales during launch week, compared to sales at the same time last year. The exact nature of the sales hints at a huge amount of Windows 7 sales, rather than a rapid liquidation of existing Vista hardware.

T-Mobile Ad Increases App Store Sales
Talk about your all-time backfires. A T-Mobile ad designed to increase sales of Android aps may have ended up putting money in Apple's pocket. In the ad, comedian Dana Carvey showed off an Android app that simulates a steamed up window and allows you to 'write on the glass' by drawing designs with your finger. According to TechCrunch, this had the inadvertent effect of boosting sales for an older, similar app for the iPhone.
Israeli iPhone app developers ApParty released their iFog app in December 2008. While it sold well initially, sales quickly dropped down and stayed there, until this new T-Mo commercial lead to a surge in sales. ApParty says that the app's downloads nearly doubled following the commercial. That's pretty clear evidence that T-Mo's ad lead to the sales.
