Best Buy says that the Instinct has become its best selling handset of the last two years.

Best Buy says that the Instinct began breaking sales records within two week of being available at Best Buy Mobile. Best Buy Mobile is the wireless arm of the electronics giant. Best Buy also offers a program for the Instinct called Walk Out Working that makes the phone fully functional when the customer leaves the store for email and all other features. Read more

The device will be available on June 20th for $129.99 and is aimed directly at the iPhone 3G. the Instinct offers live TV, stereo Bluetooth, GPS and one-touch access to favorites.

The Instinct will connect to the Sprint EVDO Rev A high-speed network for fast downloads and uploads. The $129.99 price is with a 2-year contract and after a $100 mail-in rebate. The touch screen phone has a QWERTY onscreen keyboard and has localized haptic tactile feedback for pressed buttons. Speech to Action functionality is also offered, something the iPhone is missing. Sprint will launch the Samsung Instinct in June. Most likely the Instinct launch will coincide with the Apple 3G iPhone launch.

Sprint licenses Visual Voicemail for Samsung Instinct from Klausner Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review Sprint announced the Samsung Instinct 3G touchscreen smartphone last week. One of the striking features is Visual Voicemail. I was a bit surprised that Sprint calls the voicemail management feature the same as Apple on the iPhone.

Interestingly Sprint made a deal with Klausner Technologies to license Visual Voicemail, which the company claims to have patents for. Klausner Technologies already sued Apple and AT&T over the iPhone Visual Voicemail back in December 2007 and again in March 2008. Read more

The Samsung Instinct features a 3.1 inch touch screen (240x432px resolution) with localized tactile feedback called haptics, which allow the virtual QWERTY keypad and other operations to become a sensory experience.
