Best Buy Says Samsung Instinct Sets Sales Records

Best Buy has announced that the Samsung Instinct smartphone available exclusively from Sprint has set a new high for handset sales in its stores. Best Buy says that the Instinct has become its best selling handset of the last two years.

Best Buy says that the Instinct began breaking sales records within two week of being available at Best Buy Mobile. Best Buy Mobile is the wireless arm of the electronics giant. Best Buy also offers a program for the Instinct called Walk Out Working that makes the phone fully functional when the customer leaves the store for email and all other features. Read more

Samsung Instinct Breaks Sales Records for Sprint

To fight off the iPhone 3G from Apple and AT&T Sprint launched the Samsung Instinct on June 20th. Sprint has now announced that the instinct has become its fastest selling EVDO handset ever and has broken sales records since its launch.

The popularity of the device has cause shortages and the Instinct is currently unavailable in some areas according to Sprint. Sprint says that it and Samsung are working to get more inventory in Sprint stores across the nation. Shipments of the Instinct are coming in from Samsung daily says Sprint and more device will be available soon. Read more

Just a few days after hitting store shelves, Samsung Instinct has become the fastest-selling EVDO handset in Sprint history.
The Samsung Instinct was first available exclusively to current Sprint customers on June 19th breaking records for the initial launch of any Sprint product.

The record pace of Instinct sales has led to temporary shortages of the device at some locations across the United States. Sprint and Samsung are diligently working around the clock to increase inventory in all sales channels. Sprint Announces Launch Date for Samsung Instinct

Sprint has announced that it will be the exclusive carrier of the new Samsung instinct hand set. The device will be available on June 20th for $129.99 and is aimed directly at the iPhone 3G. the Instinct offers live TV, stereo Bluetooth, GPS and one-touch access to favorites.

The Instinct will connect to the Sprint EVDO Rev A high-speed network for fast downloads and uploads. The $129.99 price is with a 2-year contract and after a $100 mail-in rebate. The touch screen phone has a QWERTY onscreen keyboard and has localized haptic tactile feedback for pressed buttons. Speech to Action functionality is also offered, something the iPhone is missing. Sprint shows how Samsung Instinct defeats Apple iPhone

Sprint is ramping up the marketing for the Samsung Instinct they introduced in early April. Sprint will launch the Samsung Instinct in June. Most likely the Instinct launch will coincide with the Apple 3G iPhone launch.

Sprint published several little videos comparing the Samsung Instinct with the Apple iPhone on the Now is Good site. The Instinct wins of course every time in web page loading speed, Live TV, GPS, shooting video, and downloading music. Read more

Sprint licenses Visual Voicemail for Samsung Instinct from Klausner

Sprint announced the Samsung Instinct 3G touchscreen smartphone last week. One of the striking features is Visual Voicemail. I was a bit surprised that Sprint calls the voicemail management feature the same as Apple on the iPhone.

Interestingly Sprint made a deal with Klausner Technologies to license Visual Voicemail, which the company claims to have patents for. Klausner Technologies already sued Apple and AT&T over the iPhone Visual Voicemail back in December 2007 and again in March 2008. Read more

Samsung Instinct for Sprint unveiled at CTIA 2008

Samsung Mobile today announced the Samsung Instinct touchscreen smartphone exclusively available through Sprint at the CTIA 2008.

The Samsung Instinct features a 3.1 inch touch screen (240x432px resolution) with localized tactile feedback called haptics, which allow the virtual QWERTY keypad and other operations to become a sensory experience.
The new Samsung device also offers a Voice to Action button providing many functions using voice activation including call, text, picture messaging, traffic, movie, sports, news and search. Read more
