The website currently offers 56 different game titles.

The games can be bought for $19.99 or $6.99 with a Game Club subscription from Big Fish Games. I’m not sure about the pricing structure, $19.99 for a casual game seems too high to me. Game genres include puzzle, action, board games and more. Read more

SanDisk says the dive is based on Advanced MLC NAND flash technology and will provide high storage capacity for next generation handsets.

The new iNAND has a 12x16mm package for the 16GB of storage space. “As more and more applications and multimedia capabilities converge within sleeker mobile handsets, the need for high-capacity mobile storage increases substantially from year to year," said Dan Inbar, vice president and general manager of the Mobile Handset Vendors division at SanDisk. "The new 16GB iNAND is the ideal solution for accommodating mobile applications, operating system programs and premium content such as large quantities of music, photos and video. Featuring a standard package interface, the 16GB iNAND EFD is designed to be quickly integrated into various handset designs for both storage capacity scalability and a smooth migration to future products and functionalities, such as system boot." The 16-gigabit (Gb) x3 NAND flash employs SanDisk’s standard 56 nanometer (nm) flash technology and provides over 20 percent more die per wafer compared to standard NAND Multi-Level Cell (MLC) memory (2-bits-per-cell) on the same technology node. x3 enables higher manufacturing efficiency and lower die cost for the same capital investment. The new x3 flash architecture has been in development for the past two years and employs SanDisk’s most advanced patented design innovations to achieve the same performance and high reliability found in SanDisk’s 2-bits-per-cell chips. The SanDisk Ultra II line now includes 32GB and 16GB SDHC cards. SanDisk also added an 8GB Ultra II SDHC Plus card as well.

The SDHC Plus card folds in the middle exposing a USB connector that allows the direct connection of the card to a PC without needing a card reader. SanDisk says the cards have read and write speeds of 15 MB/sec up from previous SDHC cards with 10MB/sec read and 9MB/sec write. Read more

SanDisk launched a new ExpressCard flash memory card today with 8GB or 16GB of storage space. The new devices are aimed at the professional camcorder market that uses this format over hard drives or disc based systems.

The SanDisk ExpressCard is expected to be available in November in both capacities. Recording time at 35MB/s will be approximately 30 minutes on the 8GB card and 60 minutes on the 16GB card. Sony is the first major manufacturer to embrace the new storage medium with its new XDCAM EX camcorder. Read more

At CES 2007 SanDisk showed me the Sansa View, which was nothing like what you see here today. The original View was totally renovated for the product that actually launched today. What you see here is a much smaller device that looks less like a PDA and more like the other members of the Sansa family that SanDisk showed off at CES 2007.

The changes certainly aren’t a bad thing; the original was large. What we have here is a very thin device, albeit with a smaller display. The View has 16GB of flash memory built-in and can be expanded with up to 8GB microSD/microSDHC cards. Read more

SanDisk has had several news announcements today with the uSSD first, then the ExpressCard reader and now the first 8GB M2 cards for mobile phone users. M2 cards are primarily used in Sony Ericsson mobile phones.

SanDisk’s 8GB M2 card is the largest M2 card in the world and will allow users to store more than 2000 digital songs, over 5000 digital photos, or more than five hours of MPEG4 videos. SanDisk says the cards will be available in Q4 2007 but that pricing has not yet been determined. Read more
