Sanyo PLV-Z60 announced
Sanyo announces the Sanyo PLV-Z60 projector, a 720p LCD projector that features 3D color management system, a high contrast ratio of 10,000:1, an installation-friendly lens shifting function, and many other features representing a step forward in price performance for a home theater projector.
The Sanyo PLV-Z60 is equipped with three wide 16:9 HD LCD panels that produce a 1280 x 720 pixels (2.76 million) image.
A 12-bit digital processing IC provides video decoding, scaling and gamma curve generation and coupled with the projector's 10000:1 contrast ratio, the PLV-Z60 delivers exceptional picture quality with deep, rich back levels and beautifully saturated colors, even when ambient light is present.

SANYO C- and D-sized eneloop Batteries and Universal Charger unveiled
Sanyo finally adds C and D cell eneloop batteries to their great pre-charged, rechargeble battery product line.
The AA and AAA eneloop batteries have been available for a while now and I have almost replaced all my batteries to use eneloop. I still have several gadgets that need the bigger C and D cell batteries, including the power hungry WowWee robot.
The new eneloop Universal Charger can charge all eneloop battery sizes from the smallest, AAA, to the largest, D. With advanced charging technology including voltage monitoring to prevent overcharging, the Universal Charger also has LED lights to indicate charge status.

Sanyo Xacti DMX-HD800 unveiled
Sanyo announced the Xacti DMX-HD800 HD camcorder.
The Sanyo Xacti HD800 features 8MP resolution and records video with a maxium of 720p HD resolution.
Other features of the Xacti HD800 include face detection (12 faces), anti-shake, Adobe Premiere Elements 4.0 bundled, SDHC up to 32GB, up to ISO1800 sensitivity and optional AV kit to connect via HDMI to TVs.

Sanyo announces a Contactless Charger Set for the Nintendo Wii Remote Control under the license of Nintendo.
The Wii remote uses two AA batteries and it is well known to take up many batteries. Sanyo supplies the battery for the Ford Escape Hybrid car and just published a detailed article describing their efforts for Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) batteries.

Sanyo PLC-XP200L 4LCD Projector unveiled
Sanyo unleashes the first projector with their new 4LCD engine: Sanyo PLC-XP200L.
The portable Sanyo PLC-XP200L delivers an 7,000 lumens brightness and 2,200:1 contrast ratio.
The additional Color Control Device in the 4LCD optical engine allows the PLC-XP200L to automatically control the amount of yellow light in the image, producing higher luminosity with improved color accuracy and clarity.

Sanyo LP-XC55 and LP-XC50 portable Projectors
Sanyo announces the LP-XC55 (3,100 lumens) and the LP-XC50 (2,600 lumens), two new portable projectors that adopt Sanyo's Active Maintenance Filter (AMF) system, allowing easy filter changes.
The new Sanyo projectors are also equipped with a sturdy and durable Security Bar, allowing thick security wires up to 11 millimeters, raising the level of security for small, portable projectors.

Sanyo Announces a Pair of Super Bright Projectors
Sanyo announced the introduction of a pair of new projectors today called the PLC-XT20/L and PLC-XT30L. The projectors are billed as super bright and are aimed at the business and education markets. The ET30L boasts a brightness of 4200 ANSI Lumens and a 1300:1 contrast ratio.
The screen resolution for the printer is 1400 x 1050. The XT21 has a brightness of 4000 lumens and a screen resolution of 1024 x 768. The contrast ratio for it is 1000:1. Inputs include D-Sub, DVI-D, component and composite via BNC, RCA composite, and S-video. Read more

Sprint announced today the upcoming launch of two new Nextel Direct Connect devices, the Sanyo Pro-200 and the Sanyo Pro-700.
Powered by Qualcomm's QChat technology, these new Nextel Direct Connect devices operate on the Rev. A portions of the Sprint Mobile Broadband network (except in Puerto Rico).

Sanyo Announces PLC-XW60 Projector
Sanyo announced a new projector today called the PLC-XW60. Sanyo calls the projector the industries smallest and lightest XGA LCD projector. The XW60 weighs only 3.6 pound and is small enough to be carried in one hand.
The projector measures in at 10.4-inches W x 2.176-inches H x 7.40-inches D. Sanyo used new lighter optical components for the projector allowing it to reduce the lamp size by 39% and a new reflector design for a 44% lighter lens. Read more

Tiny Sanyo LP-XW60 LCD Projector
Sanyo announces the LP-XW60 Projector, which they claim to be the smallest and lightest LCD projector.
Measurements of the Sanyo LP-XW60 are 264x188x55mm.
This is pretty small indeed. There are other projector technologies that enable smaller projectors and we've already been promised projectors in our mobile phones any time soon.

Kyocera Buys Sanyo's Mobile Phone Business
Kyocera Corporation announced today that it has reached an agreement with SANYO Electric Co to take over Sanyo’s mobile phone business. The agreement was approved today and will go into effect April 1, 2008.
"This transaction will yield great synergies and economies of scale in areas such as technology portfolios, R&D, procurement, design, marketing and sales," said Makoto Kawamura, president of Kyocera Corporation, the group's global parent. "Furthermore, the Kyocera and SANYO product portfolios are highly complementary, and will allow us to offer a broader lineup of handsets and data devices to all of our carrier customers." Read more

Sanyo touts already announced Xacti HD1000 and HD700 at CES 2008
Sanyo just released CES press-release announces the Sanyo Xacti HD1000 and HD700.
The Sanyo Xacti HD1000 was already introduced in Japan in August. I understand a bit that Sanyo is now introducing 'the world's smallest and lightest full HD digital camcorder' again for the U.S. market at the CES 2008.

Sanyo to Bundle Corel DVD MovieFactory with Xacti DMX-HD1000
Corel announced today that it's Ulead DVD MovieFactory would be bundled with the new Sanyo Xacti DMX-HD1000 HD camcorder. The DMX-HD1000 is billed as the world’s smallest HD camcorder with a resolution of 1920 x 1080.
The bundled software will allow users to export movies and photos shot with the HD1000 to MPEG2-HD files at 1440 x 1080 or 1920 x 1080 resolutions. Read more
