Sanyo Eneloop Tones and Eneloopy Unveiled

I have been using the Sanyo Eneloop rechargeable batteries for a couple years now and love them. I still need a couple more to completely avoid standard batteries. Of course there have been rechargeable batteries before, but the Eneloop batteries came precharged and the new generation of Eneloop AA batteries can be recharged 1,500 times.
Sanyo has been pretty successful with their Eneloop battery line, selling 100 million cells since November 2005.

Sanyo Unveils PLC-XF1000 Projector with 12k Lumens

Sanyo has added yet another massively bright projector to its line of offerings called the PLC-XF1000. This projector is one of the brightest that the company offers with 12,000 lumens. That should be plenty of light for large venues and bright rooms.

To get so many lumens of output the projector uses a dual lamp system. The contrast ratio for the projector is also very good at 4000:1. Sanyo equips the projector with its active maintenance filter system and its QuaDrive optical engine. Read more

New Sanyo VPC-FH1A And VPC-HD2000A Support New Apple iFrame

Apple silently cooked up a new video format dubbed iFrame. The iFrame format has a resolution of 960 x 540px and is designed by Apple to speed up importing and editing by keeping the content in its native recorded format while editing.
The first two camcorder supporting iFrame are from Sanyo. The new Sanyo VPC-FH1A (Buy Now On Amazon) and VPC-HD2000A camcorder were announced today.

The Sanyo HD2000A and the FH1A Dual Cameras are automatically programmed to default to the iFrame mode for ultimate ease of use and convenience to the user.
In addition to the iFrame video format (960 x 540), the cameras can record in High Definition 1080P (1920 x 1080), as well as high speed video formats for slow motion playback. The two new models are nearly identical camcorders in two different body designs. The HD2000A is in SANYO's signature vertical form factor while the FH1A is a traditional style camcorder shape (horizontal). Read more

Sanyo Unveils Two new iPhone/iPod Alarm clocks

With the vast popularity of the Apple iPod and iPhone, it makes sense that there would be a wealth of accessories on the market. Docks for the devices are very popular and many of the docks have built-in alarm clocks to allow the user to wake to their iPod music. Sanyo has unveiled a couple new clocks for the iPhone and iPod.

The new offerings include the DMP-P1 Cube Alarm Clock Radio that sells for $39.99. The device is a small clock that can wake you to a buzzer, playlist, or AM/FM radio. The device also features a BassXpander mode for better sound and charges the iPod while you play music. Read more

Sanyo is quite successful with their range of pre-charged rechargeable batteries called Eneloop. I use them for all my gadgets at home.

Sprint Gets New Sanyo SCP-2700 Mobile Phone

Sprint has announced a new entry-level texting phone from Sanyo called the SCP-2700. The handset sports at full QWERTY keyboard and threaded text messaging, Internet access, email support, and a 1.3MP camera.

The screen on the phone is a 2.2-inch LCD and the device has an integrated speakerphone as well. The keyboard has a dedicated emoticon key for inserting smiley faces into messages and for inserting other symbols. Read more

Sanyo LP-WXU700 802.11n Wi-Fi Projector unveiled

Sanyo today introduces the industry's first 802.11n Wi-Fi Wide XGA LCD projector, the LP-WXU700.
The projector is able to stream video via its Video Streaming Function across the wireless LAN, allows easier projection utilizing Windows Vista Network Projector Function. With 3,800 lumen brightness the LP-WXU700 can be used for daylight projection.

The Sanyo LP-WXU700 will start being sold in Japan from June 19, 2009, targeting use at offices or schools. Read more

Sanyo Short Throw WXGA LCD Projector Unveiled

Sanyo has announced a new short throw projector called the PLC-WXE45 that offers a 16:10 aspect ratio and a resolution of 1280 x 800. The projector is capable of throwing an image 80-inches from only 34-inches from the screen or projection surface.

Other features of the projector include closed captioning, blackboard and color board modes and security features. The projector will work for educational use and in the home or business. The power to the projector is on as soon as it is plugged in with no need to press buttons. Read more

Sanyo Unveils 2009 Camcorder Line

Sanyo has announced its new line of camcorders for 2009 including several 1080p and a waterproof 720p model. Among the new camcorders are the 1080p 60 frames per second VPC-FH1, VPC-WH1 720p HD camcorder with 30x optical zoom that works to 10 feet under water for an hour. Other new cameras include the VPC-TH1 and VPC-CG10.

The most interesting of the new line to me is the waterproof WH1, which is offered in yellow or blue. The camera records 720p video at 30 fps and has a 2MP digital camera for still shots built-in. The LCD is a 2.5-inch model and the battery is good for up to 3 hours and 20 minutes. A digital image stabilizer is built-in for both movies and stills. Read more

Sanyo SCP-2700 QWERTY Phone unveiled by Sprint

Sprint and Sanyo today announced the upcoming arrival of the Sanyo SCP-2700.
The Sanyo SCP-2700 is a messaging device featuring a full QWERTY keyboard with threaded text messaging, 1.3MP, Sprint Navigation, Sprint Family Locator, Sprint Mobile Email Work, Social Zone application, and Bluetooth.

The SCP-2700 will be available beginning May 10th, which is still several weeks away. The Sanyo SCP-2700 will sell for only $29.99 with a new two-year service agreement, after a $50 mail-in rebate. Read more

Sanyo announced today the line-up of new Xacti camcorder for 2009 and impresses with cool new models.
The new mixed form factor (Horizontal, Vertical) line-up of 5 video cameras include new waterproof HD models DMX-WH1 and DMX-CA9, a compact HD unit dubbed DMX-CG10, and Full HD with 60fps cameras DMX-FH11 and DMX-HD2000.
Sanyo highlights now that the Xacti cameras are Dual cameras as they combine the benefits of digital still cameras and camcorders into one unit. Most camcorders do take still photos, so I am not sure if this is a strong argument for the Xacti camcorders. I find many other aspects of the Xacti line much more interesting like small size and design. Read more

Sanyo Unveils Industry's Brightest Projector

Big spaces that are brightly lit can be a challenge for many projectors. Sanyo has a new projector that is perfect for this type of area and is being called the industry's brightest projector. Dual lamps inside the projector provide up to 10,000 lumens of light.

The contrast ration offered by the projector is 3000:1 and it uses a three-mirror system for uniform light output. Aspect ratio for the projector is 4:3 and the optics use Durable Inorganic Optical System meaning that they are treated for heat and UV resistance. Read more

Sanyo Announces New PLC-XW57 Projector

Sanyo has introduced a new ultraportable projector called the PLC-XW57. The device has a XGA 1024 x 768 resolution and offers 2000 ANSI lumens of brightness. Contrast ratio for the projector is 400:1 and the aspect ratio is 4:3.

Other features of the projector include a short throw lens with a 1.2x optical zoom, auto search input mode, Blackboard mode and quick start up and power off. One of the best features is the compact 13" x 3.15" x 9.3" size and weight of 6.4 pounds. Image size can be as large as 100-inches from 11 to 14 feet away. Read more

Sanyo and Panasonic one step closer to Merger

As reported last week Panasonic wants to take over Sanyo. It looks like the deal is going to happen. Today Sanyo published a statement saying that Panasonic and SANYO have agreed to start discussions for Capital and Business Alliance.
This means the Sanyo board has decided to further explore being aquired by Panasonic. Read more
