Tangent Evergreen 17 Green Touch Screen PC

Tangent introduced a new green computer called the Evergreen 17. The system is a slim, all-in-one design that uses a touch screen and has very low power requirements. The system uses a Via Eden 1.0GHz CPU that requires no fan.

It can also be optioned with a faster ViaC7 1.50GHz CPU with a low noise fan. The Evergreen 17 runs on Windows XP Pro or Windows XP Embedded. A Linux version is also available. The computer can be ordered with SSDs from 1GB to 64GB of storage capacity. Normal HDDs with 60GB to 250GB are available as well. The system starts at $1195. Read more

Dell Inspiron 910 Netbook Ubuntu Screen-shots leaked

The Inspiron 910, Dell's entry into the netbook market, generates a lot of interest and the anticipation for the release is mounting. I guess Dell will go official with the Inspiron 910 next week. For now Engadget has posted some screen-shots of the Inspiron 910 running Ubuntu 8.04 Linux.

The screens show a quick launch toolbar desk and the photos also reveal a look at the 8.9 inch screen and the keyboard of the Dell Inspiron 910. Read more

Iomega Screenplay TV Link Announced

Iomega has announced a new device called the ScreenPlay TV Link that makes accessing digital video content on the home theater easy. The device also features a USB port onboard for attaching a compatible hard drive for storage.

The device attaches to the TV and digital video files or photos can be played back directly on the TV screen from attached flash drives, hard drives and Iomega REV drives. Video output options include HDMI, component, composite, and SCART. Audio connectivity includes RCA and S/PDIF. Supported resolutions include 480p, 720p, and 1080i. Yellow iPhone 3G Screens can be fixed

Early iPhone 3G customers reported that the iPhone 3G screen has a yellowish hue that was different to the original iPhone screen.

Apple said that they configured the screen with a more natural and warmer color temperature. Now it looks like Apple was not really happy with the screen setting as a new firmware iPhone 3G update 5A347 is reducing the yellow tint of the screen. Read more

BlackBerry Thunder Screenshots leaked

New photos of the rumored BlackBerry Thunder touchscreen phone appeared on CrackBerry showing the on-screen keyboard.

The images show the virtual keyboard of the BlackBerry Thunder, which can be displayed in landscape and portrait mode with different layouts.
The keyboard graphics still look very bland, but these screenshots are apparently from an early build of the BlackBerry Thunder 4.7 OS. Read more

According to Strategy Analytics Apple will grab 35% of the touchscreen phone market in 2008 with its iPhone. Many users that would have bought the original iPhone held off because the iPhone lacked 3G connectivity.

The 3G connectivity for the iPhone 3G is the biggest single improvement many were waiting for. The addition of GPS is also expected to boost sales. Despite those two new added features, many will find that AT&T’s 3G service is patchy at best outside of major cities on highways. Control4 Launches 7-inch Wall Mount Touch Screen

Control4 has announced its latest wall-mount touch screen for controlling home automation. The screen is the Control4 7-inch POE Wall mount Touch Screen and expands the offerings that already include a 10.5-inch version and a mini-touch screen.

The new 7-inch screen uses a 16x9 format and offers three times the display area of the Mini touch Screen. The screen also acts as a photo frame when not in use with a screen saver function. Cell-Savers has a new product that thwarts these shoulder surfers called the Magi-Privacy Screen.

The film does double duty by protecting the screen of your device and when viewed from an angle of at least 30 degrees from either side onlookers see nothing that you are viewing or working on.
