Sharp Willcom D4 is first Intel Atom MID running Windows Vista
Sharp announces the Mobile Internet Device Willcom D4, which is apparently beating everybody else to be the first Intel Atom MID running Windows Vista.
Intel announced the Atom CPUs on April 1st. The new Sharp WillCom D4 is designed for the Japanese market as it leverages the Willcom PHS network, but gives us an idea on the Atom MIDs that will be coming to the market this year.

The Sharp Softbank 922SH features a 3.5 inch screen with VGA resolution and 2,000:1 contrast ratio.

Sharper Image files for Bankruptcy
Famous Gadget shop Sharper Image files for chapter 11 Bankruptcy protection.
We just reported two weeks ago about the declining Sales of Sharper Image. Looks like they dropped too much.
I still remember my first trip to the U.S. years ago, the Sharper Image store was the place to check out. It is sad that they cannot keep up with the gadget trends of today.

The Sharper Image Reports Sales Decline
Perennial purveyor of pricy products The Sharper Image announced its January sales reports today. Sales from the niche gadget and electronic supplier are down across the board.
Sharper Image reports sales for the month ending January 31, 2008 to be down 11% with sales totals of $15.3 million compared to $17.8 million and total company sales were down 23%. Read more

Sharp Announces New 37-inch, 42-inch and 46-inch Aquos HDTVs
Sharp announced that it was introducing three new Aquos HDTV models in the Japanese home market. The three new LCD TVs will come in 46-inch, 42-inch, and 37-inch sizes. The three sets are intended to be wall mounted and don’t come standard with a table top stand.
Sharp says the Aquos X series sets have the thinnest profile of any Aquos HDTVS with the thinnest part of the set being a mere 3.44 cm. All three of the new Aquos models house the tuner portion in a separate component to allow for thinner profile on the TV. Read more

Sharp 108 inch LCD TV is World's largest
Panasonic took the world record in Plasma TV size at the CES 2008, Sharp claims victory for the LCD TV segment with a 108 inch LCD TV.
The Sharp 108-inch LCD has Full HD 1080p resolution and measures 93.9-inches (W) by 52.9-inches (H) in size.
The largest LCD TV features Sharp’s Advanced Super View LCD Panel manufactured at Sharp’s Kameyama Plant No. 2, the first facility in the world to produce panels from eighth-generation glass substrates.
