DARPA working towards Invisible Shields Good Guys can Shoot through, but Bad Guy
This is one far out story sounding more like something Greg Bear would write in a sci fi story than a project one of our governmental agencies would be working on. DARPA, who teamed up with Dan Quale to invent the Internet, are set on a new task.
They are looking to develop metamaterials with some freaky properties to give to our soldiers. They are talking about shields that allow your soldiers to fire through them, but don’t allow enemies to fire through them. Read more

ShieldZone iPod nano SHIELD Review
Shieldzone asked me if I had a gadget that needed protection. I just had a black iPod nano lying around from one of our gadget model photo shoots and I thought I give an iPod nano Shield a try.
Quote:
"I used a sharp end of a paper clip, a screw driver, keys nothing left a scratch. The material is not hard, it is actually soft.
So when you drive a screw driver across the surface you shortly see a streak and then it disappears again. So here is my question, why cannot Apple right away use such a material on the iPod casing from the start?

DefendAir Wi-Fi Shielding Paint
Gearlive reports about DefendAir Shielding Paint for the paranoid among us.
Quote:
"WiFi is hackable, plain and simple. At the very least, someone near your network can steal the bandwidth and use it for all types of illegal internet activity. One partial solution is DefendAir interior paint from ForceField Wireless. When you apply this on a wall, it can dampen the amount of WiFi, WiMax, or Bluetooth frequencies escaping into outside rooms, homes, or pesky spies parked outside in a black van."
