Scosche Wins CES 2010 Award For tapSTICK iPod Shuffle Case
The wild popularity of iPods has given birth to an entire industry of specialized carrying cases built around the trendy media players. Today Scosche Industries, makers of the tapSTICK iPod shuffle protective case, announced that they've been designated an honoree for the 2010 CES Innovations Design and Engineering Award. I'm pretty sure this means they make one hell of an iPod shuffle case. Scotsche will be showing their new product off at next years CES show.
They'll be set up in the iLounge Pavilion, which is where all manner of 3rd party Apple peripheral manufacturers will be setting up their wears. The tapSTICK itself is a polycarbonate case which allows users to play, pause, adjust volume, skip tracks, and navigate using the VoiceOver feature. Both this product, and a bevy of other Scosche "made for iPod" and iPhone products will be on display this year.

Belkin Unveils Headphone Adapter for iPod Shuffle
The new iPod shuffle is one of the less expensive and more popular iPod models on the market. The big problem with the shuffle is that the device has no external controls so users have been stuck with the stock headphones that have the integrated controls.
Belkin has announced a new adapter for the shuffle that allows the user to use any headphones with the player by adding a short cable with controls for the shuffle between the headphones and the player. The cable plugs into the shuffle and any 3.5mm connector headphones plug into it. Read more

Apple iPod Shuffle 3G Review
Our review partner Digital Trends also takes the new Apple iPod shuffle 3G to the test and published this review. The new iPod shuffle only scores a low 6.5 rating.
Quote from the review: "With Apple's minimalistic taste in design, less is always more. And there's no better evidence than the latest iPod Shuffle, which has no buttons, no display, no expandable media slot, and no removable battery - yet makes up for it in being so small that it could quite literally get lost in a pocket. Apple's latest play to gym fanatics and pavement pounders everywhere sacrifices the intuitive interface of the original, but adds to the feature stack as well, with VoiceOver, text-to-speech technology that actually allows the MP3 player to read track titles and artist names aloud to you.

iPod shuffle 3G in-depth Review
Apple unveiled the new talking iPod shuffle 3G about 2 weeks ago. The opinions are mixed on this newest iPod. It is tiny, but the talking and the moving of the controls to the headset cord sparked discussion. We featured already an early iPod shuffle 3G Review. Now Apple Insider took their time and published an in-depth review of the new iPod shuffle 3G.
Quote from the review: "Outside of a slightly more complicated sync process, it's still the quintessential exercise iPod and the most likely to be a companion to an iPhone or one of Apple's larger iPods. The addition of playlists alone may tip the balance for those who wanted more diversity in what they could play, and the remote-borne input is easier to manage in mid-run than a player bouncing and jiggling on your clothes.

iPod shuffle 3G Review
Apple unveiled the tiny new talking iPod shuffle yesterday. USA Today has already published an iPod shuffle review. USA Today gives the new iPod shuffle 3 out of 4 stars. Reviewer Edward C. Baig, who had a pre-production iPod shuffle for the past week, likes the smallness of the new shuffle but also highlights all the compromises that come with the tiny size.
The VoiceOver sounds robotic, but works and keeps you informed of what song is actually playing on the iPod shuffle.
On the down side battery life is about 1 hour lower than on the 2G shuffle and you need the special ear buds that come with the new iPod shuffle as they carry the remote to control the device.

SwimMan Waterproof Mod of new Apple iPod shuffle
A company called SwimMan sells a waterproofed Apple iPod shuffle.
SwimMan does not detail how they make the shuffle waterproof. They buy iPods and make them waterproof inside the case. So there is no additional case needed. If this works then this is a very cool solution.
The waterproof 1GB iPod shuffle bundled with a waterproof headset sells for $250. Just the 1GB shuffle sells for $75, which is actually cheaper than many other stores.
