Verizon Wireless announced yesterday that it has a new, exclusive Motorola phone just in time for the holidays. The MOTO Z6c slider is a slim phone that can be used on wireless networks worldwide.

The Z6c will be available in Verizon Wireless stores on December 12 at a price of $179.99 after a $50 mail in rebate and new two-year agreement. The phone has an espresso colored high-gloss case on the front and a soft touch material on the back. Read more

Sony Ericsson 3G Slider Walkman ''Shinobu''

Photos of a new 3G HSDPA Walkman slider have surfaced on the web.

The codename for this new Sony Ericsson Walkman phone is supposed to be Shinobu.
Apparently the photos originate from a Polish cellphone shop. The currently known specifications include a 2MP camera, 2.4" screen with QVGA resolution and a thickness of 12.5mm. Read more

Sony Ericsson announced at the CTIA the new W580 Walkman phone in a slim slider design.

The Sony Ericsson W580 is only 14mm thin and has flashy light effects along the side that change with you navigating the Walkman music player.

Other features of the W580 include 2 inch QVGA screen, 2MP camera, micro memory stick slot, FM radio and Bluetooth.

Measurements of the W580i are 99 x 47 x 14 mm and the weight is 94g.

Nokia announces the 6288 3G slider featuring some interesting video capabilities.

The Nokia 6288 features a QVGA screen with 262k colors. The 2MP digital camera is a bit of a disappointment. Nokia bundles a 512MB memory card with the 6288. You can edit recorded videos, use the as ring tones or share them in real-time.

Samsung SCH-W200 HSDPA Slider Handset

Samsung announces the SCH-W200 HSDPA enabled mobile phone in Korea.

The Japanese NTT DoCoMo N902iX HSDPA phone is one huge handset. It is good to see that HSDPA does not necessarily mean bigger phones. The Samsung SCH-W200 is as compact as other Samsung Sliders, but enables 1.8Mbps download speeds.

The Samsung SCH-W200 features a Dual Band Dual Mode (DBDM) chip that supports 2G, 3G and 3.5G mobile communication services.
Besides HSDPA the SCH-W200 features S-DMB Tuner, 2MP camera, 2.12" screen, text-to-speech conversion, microSD slot and MP3 player. Read more

LG Duo Slider Phone SD-910

In parallel to E3 2006 the EXPO COMM KOREA 2006 took place. One of the phones LG showed off there was the SD-910, which slides in two directions.

The LG SD-910 slides vertically to reveal the keypad for phone calls and messaging. For watching videos or listen to music, the 2" screen can be moved horizontally to reveal media control buttons.
The horizontal movement can be done either in closed or open vertical open slide position. Read more

Samsung SPH-V8900 / SCH-V890 White Thin Slider Handset

Samsung announced a cool new thin slider mobile phone in Korea dubbed the SPH-V8900 and SCH-V890.

Samsung chose the color white for this 13.8mm thin slider handset. Besides being stylish the new Samsung phone features Bluetooth and a 1.3MP camera.

Samsung's marketing came up with the acronym SKIN for this handset, which means something like the Slim and Keen.

I wonder what will be the next big thing after the slim mobile phone trend. It is now around for a while and was started by Motorola with the RAZR. Read more

New Tiny Samsung Sliders SCH-V910, SPH-V9100 and SPH-V9150

The new Samsung slider phone is really tiny, unless the model in the photo has unusually big hands.

Korean carrier Anycall is supposed to offer the new Samsung SCH-V910, SPH-V9100 and SPH-V9150 (it is not clear what the differences between those models are). This tiny slider features a 1.3MP camera, Flash User interface and MP3 player. Read more

Motorola RAZR Z Slider to Big for Korea

Motorola introduces a slider version of its highly successful RAZR mobile phone in Korea.

The Motorola RAZR Z is only 14.8mm thick, pretty thin for a slider. It features a 2.2 inch color screen and mp3 player.
An analyst quoted in the Korea Times article says the RAZR Z is to big for Korean hands and more suitable for foreigners. There you have it Motorola, go and launch the sliding RAZR in the US. Read more

Samsung WiBro Slider Windows PDA Phone SPH-M8000

Yesterday Korean site AVing had photos of the Samsung SPH-H1000. Today they published close-up photos of the Samsung SPH-M8000 Windows Mobile 5.0 WiBro PDA phone.

The Samsung SPH-M8000 has a full QWERTY keyboard that slides out at the bottom of the Windows PDA phone (runs still Window Mobile 2003 Second Edition and not Windows Mobile 5.0).
The SPH-M8000 features a Intel PXA272 520MHz CPU and a 2.8" 262k TFT-LCD screen with QVGA resolution. Of course it also has satellite DMB TV reception. Read more

The Nokia N80 is the first quadband handset designed to work on 3G (WCDMA 1900 or 2100), WLAN, EDGE and four GSM bands (850/900/1800/1900), enabling broadband access from virtually anywhere in the world. This Slider phone is pretty small, just a little bit taller than a credit-card. Nice work Nokia.

The new Nokia Web Browser with Mini Map is supported by the N80, featuring a semi-transparent zoomed-out overall view of the web page, enabling users to intuitively navigate to all corners as well as see the web site as it was originally designed.

Slider Style MP3 Player: Unison Soriya MF100

We reported about their star-shaped Soriya TM500. The Unison TM600 with FM Transmitter and flip-out display is available now on Amazon.com.

The new Soriya MF100 features a slider style design known from Mobile Phones. Sliding the MP3 player open the menu buttons are revealed (see photo below).

T-Mobile MDA III Wi-fi Slider PDA released

The T-Mobile MDA III pda is a Wi-Fi enabled Pocket PC with a slider phone like design.
The third version of the MDA that T-Mobile has released still does not feature GPRS or 3G. A BlackBerry email push service is also scheduled to be available for the MDA III from the fourth quarter of this year.

Korean Slider Smart Phone POZ X301 with Wi-Fi

The POZ X301 is a CDMA2000 1x-EVDO/1x RTT Windows Mobile 2003 Phone, which features a sliding design for a small thumb keyboard.
The POZ X301 also features integrated Wi-Fi wireless networking and a built-in 0.3 megapixel digital camera.

New Samsung Slider Phone SGH-D410 revealed

Samsung Germany announces new Slider Phone SGH-D410 before its debut at german CeBit 2004 Computer Trade-Show.

The Samsung SGH-D410 tri-band handset features a move-able VGA Digital Camera which can take photos at a 640x480 resolution. The large 2" color display has 260,000 colors.
The SGH-D410 features MIDP 2.0 for Java applications and java games. The phone also features an email client that supports POP3 and IMAP4-Servers.

Slider phones are pretty hip right now. We reported about the Siemens SL56, LG G5500, Sanyo V801SA and the Kyocera Slider S5 in the past.

Samsung also announced the small SGH-E600 camera flip-phone phone.
