SLIMstage40 Soundbar Now Available
Soundmatters' SLIMstage40 is billed as the industry's first high-performance, low-profile all-in-one surround speaker/amplifier/processor console. The SLIMstage40 promises to deliver an engaging 5.1 surround sound experience without having to resort to AV receivers and multiple speakers. The sound bar has 170 W of power from eight internal amplifiers and measures 3.3-inches high by 3.4-inches deep by 30-inches wide.
The SLIMstage is slimmer than most wall-mounted plasma and LCD TVs, making for much less conspicuous surround sound system than most oversize surround sound bars can provide. The manufacturer promises levels of bass that makes an external subwoofer optional. In addition to the 13 speaker driver array, other features include three digital audio inputs (two of them optical and one coax) three analog inputs with two on the rear panel and one for iPod input. The system also includes a high-contrast LED backlit panel, user-friendly infrared remote, front panel controls, and a wall bracket. The suggested retail price is $899 for the SLIMstage40 alone or $1199 when bundled with the Substage100 subwoofer. Read more
