Sony Ericsson sees strong global Demand for Handsets
SINGAPORE (Reuters) - Japanese-Swedish handset maker Sony Ericsson said on
Tuesday it projected strong demand for the global handset industry in the second
quarter and the second half of this year. "We had a slightly slower start to the
year due to some economic downturn in Western Europe and due to overstocking in
channels in Q4, which meant inventories were higher going into 2008. That was a
short-term issue," Sony Ericsson's head of global marketing James Marshall told
Reuters in an interview.

Sony Ericsson S302 Snapshot Camera Phone unveiled
Besides the Sony Ericsson C905 & Sony Ericsson F305 the company also announced a low-cost camera phone dubbed S302.
The Sony Ericsson S302 features a 2MP camera, 2.5x digital zoom, Photo fix, Photo light, picture blogging, 3D games, FM tuner, Bluetooth stereo, speakerphone, and a 2 inch screen.

Sony Ericsson unveiled the Cyber-shot C905 8.1MP camera slider today.

Nokia, Sony Ericsson and others sign 3GPP LTE Technology Contract
Alcatel-Lucent, Ericsson, NEC, NextWave Wireless, Nokia, Nokia Siemens Networks and Sony Ericsson have today announced a mutual commitment to a framework for establishing predictable and more transparent maximum aggregate costs for licensing intellectual property rights (IPR) that relate to 3GPP Long Term Evolution and Service Architecture Evolution standards (LTE/SAE).
LTE promises to make 3G networks, faster, more efficient, lower cost and more.

Sony Ericsson confirms Details on XPERIA X1
We have covered the cool looking Sony XPERIA X1 mobile phone before here at I4U. Sony Ericsson confirmed some details on the phone this week. Sony Ericsson confirmed that the XPERIA will run on Windows Mobile 6.1 and will offer a highly customizable interface using the XPERIA panel.

AT&T Gets Exclusive Sony Ericsson Z750a Clamshell
Sony Ericsson and AT&T announced a new exclusive handset today called the Z750a. The device is the first Sony Ericsson handset with 3G for the US market. The phone is described as an affordable and stylish handset with a mirrored clamshell design and hidden exterior display.
The device is compatible with mobile broadband service from AT&T and features a 2MP camera. "Sony Ericsson continues to expand its North American portfolio with a distinctive and signature design that combines entertainment, style and speed in a sleek device," said Karen Morris, vice president of marketing for Sony Ericsson North America. "Representing one of our most distinctive and colorful 3G clamshells, the Z750a will appeal to those who want to do more with their phone - share music, high-quality pictures, browse the Internet - and project a sophisticated image all their own. Sony Ericsson announced the Walkman W380 phone in November. Tweaktown got their hands on a pre-production Sony Ericsson Walkman W380i and published a first look review.
Quote: "It’s not every day we get the chance to take a look at a pre-production mobile phone here at TweakTown, but this time we’ve managed to get you an exclusive preview of Sony Ericsson’s upcoming W380i handset which is expected to launch in early March. Sony Ericsson announces at the MWC 2008 two new camera phones in the Cyber-shot line: C902 and C702.
The Cyber-shot C902 features a 5MP camera with unique slide-out lens cover, face detection, flash, night shoot mode, and auto focus.
Other features of the Sony Ericsson Cyber-shot C902 include 2 inch QVGA screen, FM Tuner, M2 slot, 160MB internal RAM, media player and Bluetooth.
Measurements of the C902 are 108 x 49 x 10.5mm and the weight is 107g.
