EA has announced that it will be introducing expansion and booster packs to add new elements to the game.

EA has announced that a Space stage expansion pack is being developed alongside a Spore Creepy & Cute Parts Pack that allows players to design characters that are either cartoon cute or creepy monsters. The Space stage expansion pack is the most interesting to me. Read more

The game has a massive story line and offers so much customization possibilities that no two games will play the same.

The sole drawback to the game is the copy protection software that is required to install the game. If you have a problem with copy protection software, I suggest you don’t buy Spore. Read more

The iPhone version of the game takes advantage of the accelerometer in the phone allowing players to turn, tilt, and twist through a maze of primordial ooze.

The goal of the game is to feed on the weak life forms and run from the strong in over 35 levels. A Creature Editor allows the customization of the texture, shape, and size of body parts to improve offense, defense, and perception. Read more

Spore Ships to Retailers Worldwide this Week Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review EA announced today that gamers around the world would be able to get their hands on spore this week. Spore is on store shelves in Germany, France, Belgium, and more countries in Europe today. Tomorrow more of Europe and South Africa will get the game.

On September 7th, Spore will be available in North America. The game is available for PC, Mac, mobile phones, iPhone, and the Nintendo DS. EA says the game will retail for $49.99. It is not clear if all versions will sell for the same price. I figure the mobile and Nintendo DS versions will be cheaper. Read more

Gamers in Europe have th ability get their hands the game a few days earlier, on September 5th, for both Mac and PC platforms. Spore creatures for Nintendo DS and Spore Originals for mobile phones will also be available globally on September 7th.

EA and Maxis also awards gamers who pre-order Spore or the Spore Galactic Edition a coupon good for $10 off your next purchase of merchandise from the Spore Store. The Spore Creature Creator has been available for a while now and generated some serious buzz. Read more

The special version of the game will include a Making of Spore DVD, How to Build a Better Being DVD from the National Geographic Channel, The Art of Spore hardback book, Spore poster, and a 100 page galactic handbook.

The regular edition of Spore has a MSRP of $49.99 and the Galactic Edition will retail for $79.99. All versions of Spore for PC, Mac, and Nintendo DS will ship on September 7th in America and September 5th in Europe. Read more

More than two creatures are being created every second according to EA.

The Spore Creature Creator is a stand-alone product and creativity toy-box where players create their own creatures and bring them to life with animations and share them online.
