Star Wars R2-D2 Robot Replica On Sale

Topic:

Star Wars R2-D2 Robot Replica On Sale Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review The Star Wars R2-D2 robot available on Hammacher and Schlemmer does not offer any holographic video displays, but it is voice controlled.

Compared to the Robby the Robot replica, the R2-D2 actually can roam your apartment. R2 obeys to more than 40 voice commands (e.g.: Turn around! Move forward two units!) and he plays games like tag, using an infra-red sensor to search for people in a room.

R2-D2 has a sensor that helps him follow behind you, or it can be set to detect motion, turning R2 into a room sentry that sounds an alarm when a secured area is invaded.

Hammacher Schlemmer is selling R2-D2 for $119.95. Read more

Star Wars with Red Bull at Formula One in Monaco

Topic:

Star Wars with Red Bull at Formula One in Monaco Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review So today is actually THE DAY, where nobody is at work or surfing the web. Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith is in the Cinemas.
I am at work, because of E3 and anyway I can wait a couple of days when it is a bit less crazy at the box office to make Mr. Lucas a bit richer.
Today I saw in the first Formula One training for the Monaco Race, a Star Wars themed Red Bull Racing car.
I wonder if Austrian's mega successful Red Bull paid Star Wars or vice versa for the publicity stunt.
George Lucas and a couple Jedis will be at the race on Sunday. Apparently Darth Vader is going to change the tires on the Red Bull race cars in the box.
More details on Formula 1.

Star Wars coming in 3D powered by In-Three

Topic:

Star Wars coming in 3D powered by In-Three Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review Californian start-up In-Three developed a new low-cost 3D projection technology for cinemas and George Lucas likes it, because he announced to release the Star Wars movies with this new 3D technology.

The In-Three technology only needs one digital projector, so it can be used in standard movie theaters. The image is projected in two slightly offset positions in two different colors. The movie goers have to wear special glasses to see the 3D effect. Supposedly In-Three is easier on the eyes and less strenuous.
I like this kind of stuff, I hope to see it soon in a movie theater near me.

More details in story on Guardian Unlimited. See also first reviews of the upcoming Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith, it is supposedly a weeper. But there is Darth Tater to make you happy again.
