Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Sells 1.5M Copies

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Sells 1.5M Copies Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review LucasArts announced today that Star Wars: The Force Unleashed has sold 1.5 million copies worldwide in its first week of release making the game the best selling Star Wars title ever. The game launched on September 16th in America, September 17th in Australia and September 19th in Europe.

LucasArts says the sales figures are based on the first five days of sales globally. Over 4.3 million copies of the game shipped worldwide in preparation for the launch. The game is available on Xbox, PS3, and Wii. Exactly why PC gamers were snubbed is a mystery. Read more

RALEIGH, N.C. (Reuters) - Even if the latest movie, "The Clone Wars," didn't break box office records, the Force is still strong for Star Wars in the videogame realm.
LucasArts has two new games that will be released this fall. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed will hit all platforms on September 16, and a pair of Star Wars The Clone Wars games will come out on Nintendo platforms on November 11.
In addition, Darth Vader, for PlayStation 3, and Yoda, for Xbox 360, are exclusive playable characters in Namco Bandai's recent release, Soul Calibur IV.
Sony Online Entertainment's partnership with LucasArts in the multiplayer online role-playing game, Star Wars: Galaxies, also continues to keep hundreds of thousands of gamers happy.
