X-Arcade Tankstick
X-Arcade sent me a Tankstick to review that was sitting on my doorstep waiting for me when I returned from vacation. I pried it out of the box last night and enjoyed hours of some of my favorite arcade games from growing up.
Included with the massive arcade stick are two CDs that have a number of old school games like my personal favorite, SmashTV. I can’t tell you how many quarters I spent on that game in my youth. Read more

CyberSitter SnoopStick Review
CyberSitter, known for their internet filter software offers the SnoopStick.
This a USB flash drive allows you to monitor what your kids or anyone using your (any) computer is doing while on the Internet. You can monitor them live, in real time, from anywhere in the world.
DragonsteelMods reviewed the recently announced SnoopStick.
Quote from the review:
"A little bit ago there was a lot of gossip, and exaggeration on quite a few websites about the product I have for review today. It is the SnoopStick from Solid Oak Software, and many people out there were saying it was for spying on people and stealing their information, well that is a bit far-fetched, and quite a bit distant from the actual truth of this product.

Pinnacle PCTV HD Pro USB TV Stick Review
Recently the guys at Everything USB reviewed the cousin to the Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-950 Review I reviewed called the Pinnacle PCTV HD Pro USB TV Stick. Seems that the USB tuner worked well for them, but the software left the reviewer a bit wanting.
The Pinnacle device is a good option for those with powerful laptops looking to view some TV programming while on the go. The program guide drew some ire in the review but overall it seems to be a worthy investment in some cases. It has a much nicer antenna than my Hauppauge unit. Read more

DIY Sony PSP Analog USB Joystick
This is one of these hardware homebrew projects that look so professional and solid, that you can imagine to buy it as is. A guy named Joe Stranger developed a detachable analog USB Joystick for the Sony PSP.
Joe Stranger got his inspiration by video gaming hardware modding legend Benjamin Heckendorn, who hacked a PS2 analog stick to work with the PSP recently.
See the YouTube video below that shows the analog Joystick for the PSP in action.

Sony PSP Firmware 2.81 Preps PSP for 8GB Memory Stick
Sony released the Sony PSP firmware 2.81 in Japan. You only need this new firmware if you use Sony Memory Sticks with capacity greater than 4GB.
Sony announced the 8GB Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo early this year to be available in 2006, but I can not find it on any store yet. The highest capacity available is still just the 4GB stick.
The firmware release can then be taken as an indication that the 8GB Memory Stick will soon be available. At least in Japan.

This Isn't Your Grandpa's Joystick Controller
This controller was built with security systems in mind, but I'm sure that someone could use it as an ultimate remote control for their entertainment PC. It's the Cyber Controller 4000J by Win4net and it comes with a built-in 5-inch TFT screen.
It's built to easily toggle between and manipulate an array of cameras. In fact, it can handle up to 999 cameras. Unless you're running a 200-story casino in Vegas, it's doubtful that this controller will ever even test that limit in practical applications, but we love when there's a spec that just sounds really cool.

Sony Sues Fake Memory Stick Makers and Sellers
The problem of fake memory sticks has been already around for a while. Now Sony started to act and is suing several companies in Japan for selling fake memory sticks online.
Fake memory sticks are also offered on eBay in the United States. So beware, when purchasing low priced sticks. The differences are hard to tell. There are not only fake Sony branded sticks, but also fake Sandisk memory sticks out there.
The fake Memory Sticks are mostly made in China and Taiwan. The pirated copies are usually priced half.

Stanford's Stickybot Climbs up Glass Windows
Mark Cutkosky and his team at the Stanford University in California developed a gecko robot that can climb up glass windows.
The scientists developed controllable sticky feet from an elastomer. The video of the Stickybot climbing up a window is awesome. The toes of the little climbing robot roll up and then extend and stick to the window.
Of course the military is interested to get this technology onto gloves for soldiers. I want a window cleaning robot. Let's see how long it takes until the Stickybot has a Squeegy in one paw.

Logitech Force 3D Pro Joystick Review
The TechLounge reviews the Logitech Force 3D Pro Joystick.
Quote:
"Today we will be taking a look at Logitech’s Force 3D Pro joystick. As you might have guessed by the name alone, it features force feedback technology. Force feedback is a feature that your standard joystick isn’t likely to have, and although it might make flying a little harder at times, it goes a long way to make your gaming experience a more realistic and therefore immersive one. When gunfire from another plane hits you, you feel the joystick shake and fight you as you struggle to control the damaged aircraft.
Or if you’re piloting a gigantic mechanical robot and are hit by an opposing robot, the rumbling indicates your damage quicker than you can hear a warning message and/or read a flashing status display. You get the drift. Let’s go crash some airplanes.

CeBIT: Memory Solution's USB Stick Memdrive reads 30 MByte/s
Among other things, the German based Memory Solution brings along the USB stick Memdrive Premium edition, which is supposed to provide a data transfer rate of over 30 MByte/s in the read mode. The stick would almost exhaust the max transfer rate of the USB-2.0-Interface of approximately 35 MByte/s.
Presumably, the USB stick will be available in the
sizes 4, 6 and 8 GB. Memory Solution plans to bring the Memdrive to the market in June. No prices are available yet.

MonsterPod camera mount sticks to almost anything
There’s something about seeing a digital camera stuck to a tree that really grabs your attention.
With its patent pending "viscoelastic morphing polymer base", MonsterPod sticks and grips to nearly any surface with a light amount of pressure. You never need to be left out of any picture. Just stick the camera, set the self-timer and shoot - horizontally, vertically or up-side down and at any angle in-between.
