Super Bowl 2009
Super Bowl 2009 was the most watched Sporting Event on TV
Nielsen Media Research updated the audience numbers for Super Bowl XLIII and now it is official that the Super Bowl 2009 was the most watched sporting event in TV history according to The Variety.
An estimated 98.73 million had watched the Super Bowl and the Super Bowl ads. Of course not all of them sat through the whole game. Still lots of them watched the number #1 Super Bowl 2009 Ad according to TiVo: Go Daddy's Enhanced?.
The Super Bowl 2009 has about 1 million more viewers than the Super Bowl 2008. With an audience close to 100 million it is clear that the Super Bowl ads have been a bargain at $3m. It is even more a bargain if you, like Doritos, get a Super Bowl Ad made by amateurs on the #1 spot according to the USA Today Ad Meter.

The worst Super Bowl 2009 Commercials
We already featured the Top 10 Super Bowl 2009 Ads and the Top 5 Funniest Super Bowl 2009 Ads. Now I look at the loser ads of the Super Bowl 2009.
If you go by the USA Today Ad Meter Super Bowl Ranking than Vizio had the worst Super Bowl 2009 Commercial.
The Vizio Super Bowl ad was just featuring information and therefore was boring. They also did not try hard as Vizio claims they only needed 72 hours to develop, write, produce and deliver the Ad.

The trailers that really came through on Super Bowl 2009 include Year One (Jack Black), Fast And Furious (Vin Diesel is back - sick!), Land of the Lost (Will Ferrell), Star Trek, Up (Pixar), Monsters vs. Alien (in 3D), Witch Mountain (The Rock) and Transformers.

Go Daddy Super Bowl 2009 Ads beat Records
The Go Daddy Super Bowl 2009 Ads were fun, but not over the top and also not that sexy. Still GoDaddy reports that they reached another online order record. Total orders to Go Daddy were up over last year’s Super Bowl record, coming in at 110% of the 2008 results. Update: TiVo Super Bowl 2009 Statistics ranks GoDaddy Enhanced Ad as Number One.
Last year GoDaddy released the number of hits to their site. They got an impressive 2 million hits for the whole Sunday, because viewers wanted to see Danica Patrick’s Beaver.
I guess they did not break this record with their Super Bowl 2009 ads, but they did a better job converting the traffic into orders.

TiVo Super Bowl 2009 Ad Ratings see GoDaddy on Top
Ad critics will hate this one. TiVo just announced their Super Bowl 2009 Ad statistics and a GoDaddy Super Bowl 2009 commercial took the number one spot.
TiVo bases its Super Bowl rankings on the behavior of TiVo users. Basically the most rewound and watched again Super Bowl ads win.
Apparently GoDaddy got lucky with their last minute 2nd Super Bowl ad spot purchase, because the late ad actually got ranked #1. GoDaddy's "Enhanced?" ad is the winner of the TiVo Super Bowl rankings and not the Shower Ad.

CEA says Super Bowl 2009 drove 2.6 Million HDTV Sales
The biggest football game of the year has come and gone with the Steelers taking the Super Bowl trophy and sending the Cardinals home with nothing but memories of the franchises first trip to the Super Bowl. The best way to watch the Super Bowl was certainly on a nice HDTV and according to the CEA, the game drove some significant sales of TVs.
The big game was expected to drive about 2.6 million HDTV sales as people geared up to watch in HD. Despite the poor economy, the CEA says that it expects 2009 to be another big year for HDTV sales with 29.8 million HDTVs expected to ship. Read more

Toyota Tundra Super Bowl 2009 Commerical goes Mad Max on Detroit
US carmakers had to endure a menacing commercial from Toyota that presented a Toyota Tundra truck in a Mad Max inspired setting. US carmakers are absent from this year's Super Bowl.
If Toyota would have signed Mel Gibson to drive the Truck up that giant steel heat tunnel construction the ad would have been perfect.
Toyota actually had that construction built for real in the Mojave Desert. The idea is that the Toyota Tundra can bring massive power even under extreme heat. This is of course very important for the 5 people living in a dessert pulling heavy trailers around.

Denny's Super Bowl 2009 Commercial is Super Hilarious
Denny's Super Bowl 2009 Commercial is hilarious after watching it 3 times. This one really builds up slowly, but then comes in unstoppable full force. I still have to laugh writing this.
As I already reported int the Denny's Super Bowl Ad teaser story a couple of mafia type guys sit at a table and discuss a hit.
Then comes the waitress and interupts them with her can of whipped cream. Watch the Denny's Super Bowl 2009 Commercial to see what happens. Watch it again, listen to the sound of the can. Watch it again and then ROTFL.

Coke Zero Mean Troy Super Bowl 2009 Commercial has 0 Calories
The Coke Zero Super Bowl 2009 commercial pays tribute to the all time Super Bowl Ad Classic Mean Greene Super Bowl Commercial, but did not quite live up to it.
Troy Polamalu has the mean looks, which makes him an ideal cast for this commercial. The "funny" twist of the Mean Troy ad did not deliver though. You can watch the full Coke Zero Super Bowl 2009 commercial below to judge yourself.

Best Site to watch all Super Bowl 2009 Commercials
The Super Bowl 43 is over and the Steelers won again. Now that we have that out of our way we can focus entirely on the Super Bowl 2009 commercials. There are several sites including Youtube that have published the Super Bowl 2009 ads, but not all are complete and several (eg: Hulu, NBC) are blocking international viewers.
Many sites miss the cool movie trailers from the new Star Trek or Transformers movie. The best site to watch all Super Bowl commercials I found is the NFL site.

Both Bridgestone ads are currently in the lead in the voting at SpotBowl.

Audi Super Bowl 2009 Ad with Jason Statham rocks
The Audi Super Bowl 2009 ad starring Jason Statham is a really great car Super Bowl commercial. It has action and also funny scenes. Jason Statham drawing a deep sigh looking at a Lexus as his next escape car is hilarious.
In the Audi Super Bowl 2009 Ad Jason Statham rushes from decade to decade to avoid capture, trying to find a vehicle to aid his getaway. He finds that several other luxury vehicles fail to get the job done. That is, until he finds the supercharged Audi A6, the company's redesigned, mid-sized luxury sedan. Pepsi MacGruber Super Bowl 2009 Ad ties into SNL
Pepsi shuffled their ads a bit and surprised us with a Saturday Night Live (SNL) skit called MacGruber.
MacGruber is a spoof of the legendary MacGyver TV series. According to the NY Times the SNL show the night before had several MacGruber sketches in it that made fun of MacGruber selling out to Pepsi.
If true than PepSuber might be a huge deal and would beat Coca Cola's straight forward Super Bowl commercials.

Doritos Super Bowl 2009 Commercial has a Crystal Ball
From the voted top 5 Super Bowl commercials in the Doritos Super Bowl ad contest the Crystal Ball was the winner and got aired during Super Bowl 2009.
My tip the Power of Crunch also aired during the Super Bowl but did not win the Doritos contest. They are both funny, the winner is a bit more creative and does not feature a woman in lingerie.

Go Daddy Internet Only Super Bowl 2009 Ads are funny
The internet only extended versions of the Super Bowl TV ads are online and are funny, but not overly riskay.
The Go Daddy Shower Super Bowl commercial turns the table in favor of the Danica and the hot blond German woman.
It is a funny Super Bowl Ad to watch, but I do not see why Go Daddy would not have been able to get the whole Internet Only ad approved for TV.
