HeadOn Headset with Cool Jetswitch Technology
Swedish company Trade Solutions CDCC AB told us about their upcoming innovative headset HeadOn that features their patented Jetswitch technology.
The HeadOn headsets automatically switch your PC audio from the speakers to the headset when you put them on. A hidden switch behind one of the headphones does this trick. The HeadOn headset is connected between the speakers and the computer.
So you listen to music and then a Skype call comes in. You put on the headset and automatically you are on via your headset. No fumbling with cables and plugs.

Anigmo Touchless Dimmer Switch
New York based Anigmo introduces a line of touch-less dimmer switches for home installation.
The dimmer switches use patented proximity technology that detects a user’s hand through most materials. This makes it possible to hide the dimmer behind decorative plates made from wood, stone or glass.
To switch light by clapping is now officially replaced by waving. To dim the light you just have to hold your hand over the switch.
I find this touch-less dimmer switch extremely cool. I would hide them inside the wall giving away no evidence that there is a switch. Just imagine your friends seeing you wave in-front of the wall to switch on the light.

It is Official: Apple switches to Intel
Engadget scored Paul Boutin to blog live from the Steve Jobs keynote from the WWDC in San Francisco. As reported the big topic will be about the switch to Intel.
Steve Jobs calls it Transitions. Basically saying that IBM has no future roadmap for the PowerPC and Intel does. Intel offers more performance at reduced power consumption. The
transition is supposed to be complete by the WWDC in 2007.
Even Paul Otellini, President & CEO of Intel goes on stage at the WWDC.

Apple switching to Intel CPUs
Couple weeks ago Reuters reported that Apple thinks about switching to Intel, away from IBM. Now CNet reports that Steve Jobs most likely will announce a phased
transition to Intel CPUs starting 2006 on Monday at the Apple Developer Conference in San Francisco.
As the information appears on CNet and not on a Apple rumor blog, it is most likely true.
This move would of course further help the Intel PC market domination. Intel currently holds 81.7% of PC CPU market share. If there is an Intel CPU inside a Mac, then we maybe will see native Windows on Macs.
More details on CNet.

NAB 2004: World's First Photonic Routing Switcher by Glimmerglass
Glimmerglass has teamed with PESA Switching Systems to demonstrate the world's first photonic routing switcher at NAB 2004 in Las Vegas (April 17-22).
An industry first, this solution switches video as laser-beams instead of as electrical voltages, delivering performance that far exceeds conventional routing switchers. Using less power than a small light bulb, the photonic routing switcher can switch bandwidths of 40 Gb/s on each of its fiber links over distances of more than 20 kilometers.
More details on Press-Release and at Glimmerglass.com.
