Tesla Motors Munich Store Opening Event Featured Organic Beer And Cars
As reported California based electric car pioneer Tesla Motors opened its first continental Europe Dealership yesterday evening in Munich, Germany. I was at the fun opening and was able to at least sit in a Tesla Roadster Sport. It feels perfect. Tesla offered test drives in the passenger seat, but there were too many people that wanted to experience the silent super fast "zip, zip" acceleration.
Many guests were just having fun watching the test Tesla cars charging silently into traffic - including me.

Tesla Set to Open Dealership in Munich
Tesla has been making its cool but pricy electric roadster called the Tesla for a while now. The car is still far from mainstream, but it has sold quite a few units. The cool part about the all-electric car is that it has a claimed 400km per charge range and can hit 60mph in under 4 seconds.
Tesla has announced that it has opened its dealership in Munich Germany, the first Tesla store in continental Europe. Tesla opened a store in London in June and has plans to open a store in Monaco later in 2009. Read more

Tesla Motors gets new Investor with German Daimler
The coolest electric car maker Tesla Motors gets a new investor with German car maker Daimler. Daimler takes 10% of Tesla Motors.
Daimler paid a double digit million dollar sum for the 10% in Tesla.
The companies plan to work together on the Smart electric car and future electric cars.

NVIDIA Offers Tesla Preconfigured Cluster
NVIDIA has announced the availability of preconfigured Tesla GPGPU clusters that are ready to go off the shelf to improve the performance of data centers for researchers and IT managers. The Tesla Preconfigured Cluster provides 30 times the performance of CPU-only solutions and allows IT managers to deploy smaller and denser servers.
The clusters consume significantly less power than traditional server clusters according to NVIDIA for a significantly savings in power and cooling bills. NVIDIA says that the Tesla Preconfigured Clusters include x86 CPUs coupled with Tesla S1070 1U GPU systems. Read more

Tesla Motors Opens EU Sales and Service in London
Tesla Motors is arguably the most well known maker of electric vehicles around with its Roadster and the recently announced Model S sedan. Tesla has announced that it will be opening its first EU regional sales and service center in London.
Tesla says that the London location is the first of three European stores it plans to open this year. The London facility will be located at 49-51 Cheval Place, formerly occupied by the Segrave Supercar Club. The Tesla showroom will be in the popular Knightsbridge district within walking distance to Harrods department store. Read more

Tesla Announces All-electric Model S Sedan
Tesla is certainly most well known for its electric Roadster sports car. Tesla has announced its second model, this time the car is a family sedan that gets its power from electricity. The car is called the Model S and can carry seven passengers up to 300 miles per charge.
Tesla says that the car can be recharged quickly as well from any 120V, 240V, or 480V outlet. When charged from a 480V outlet the car can be charged from empty to full in only 45 minutes. The battery pack is mounted in the floor and can be removed opening the possibility of battery exchange stations nationwide. Read more

Tesla Roadster Available in Canada
Tesla Motors has announced that its Roadster is now available for purchase in Canada. Vehicles will begin being delivered to customers in Canada in Q4 2009 according to the electric carmaker. The Tesla roadster made waves as the first all-electric sports car with real sports car levels of performance.
While it performs well, the car is also twice as efficient as a Toyota Prius. Tesla says that Canada is a good showcase for its vehicle since the country is one of only two countries in the world where most of the electricity is from renewable sources. Read more

New Tesla Roadster Sport unveiled
Tesla Motors Inc. began taking orders today for the Roadster Sport, a high-performance sports car based on the all-electric, zero-emission vehicle.
The Tesla Roadster Sport does 0 to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds, compared with 3.9 seconds for the standard Roadster.
The new pimped Tesla Roadster comes with a hand-wound stator and increased winding density for lower resistance and higher peak torque. In addition to Yokohama’s Ultra High Performance tires, the Roadster Sport has improved suspension with adjustable dampers and anti-roll bars that will be tuned to the driver’s preference.

ElecomSoft Uses NVIDIA Tesla to Recover Passwords
ElecomSoft has announced that it is using NVIDIA's latest generation Tesla compact supercomputer that uses NVIDIA GPUs for fast data processing to recover passwords via ElecomSoft Distributed Password Recovery.
According to Elecom, the service can recover a variety of system passwords including NTLM and Windows startup passwords, crack MD5 hashes, unlock password-encrypted documents from Office 97-2007, secure PDF files, and Unix or Oracle passwords. Read more

Tesla announces Electric Sedan Family Car
Tesla Motors announces formally an electric Sports Sedan dubbedd Tesla Motors Model S.
Tesla Motors already talked about planning an affordable electric family car in 2007 - back then dubbed WhiteStar.
The big announcement yesterday was made in presence of California Governor Schwarzenegger as Tesla Motors decided to manufacture the Model S in California. The exact location is not decided yet.

2008 Tesla Roadster goes into Production
Electric sports car maker Tesla Motors announces that the 2008 Tesla Roadster is finally going into regular production.
California green cars startup Tesla Motors introduced the Roadster for the first time in July 2006.
The 2008 model year is already sold out and Tesla is currently taking reservations for the 2009 model year Tesla Roadster.

Tesla Roadster Status Update
The coolest electric car, the Tesla Roadster, has been hit by delays and management changes. This week Tesla updated its customers on the status of their pre-ordered electric Porsche killers.
Apparently the biggest technical issue in the Tesla Roadster is the transmission. Shifting gears with the electric motor on full torque is a hard task for a transmission. The current one does not hold for very long. Tesla Motors built the first production car (for Elon Musk) with a not yet finalized transmission.

In a message from Elon Musk, Chairman of Tesla Motors, Inc. a change of the company's leadership is announced.
Michael Marks, former CEO of Flextronics and an early investor in Tesla Motors, will become interims CEO. He takes over from Tesla Motors founder Martin Eberhard who will take the role as President of Technology.

Tesla Roadster in Xbox 360 Project Gotham Racing 4
A car you really made it when it is featured in a video game. For an electrical car it is a great accomplishment to be featured in a car racing video game.
Tesla Motors achieved apparently to place their Tesla Roadster in the Project Gotham Racing 4 game. Videos of racing sequences shot with real cars have appeared on Youtube. The Tesla Roadster makes a great impression against the Ferrari and Mercedes SLR Mclaren.

NVIDIA Tesla GPU Computing
NVIDIA has been talking up their new Tesla GPU Computing solutions for HPC this week. NVIDIA has taken their 8800 series graphics cards and positioned them for use by scientists.
NVIDIA has taken three different directions with the Tesla products, the C870 GPU computing processor that can provide over 500 gigaflops of floating point performance. The Tesla S870 GPU computing server designed to fit into enterprise rack mount environments. Read more

Tesla Motors revealed some details about their future electric sedan codename WhiteStar.
Tesla Motors raised the coolness factor for electrical cars by 1,000% when the company introduced the Tesla Roadster. The electrical car is so hot that Tesla can afford to raise the price from $92,000 to $98,000 starting June 15th. If you still want a Tesla Roadster for $92k you need to reserve one now.
Tesla Motors works on a new electric car for the family. The WhiteStar is supposed to come in two versions. One will sell for $50,000 and the premium model sells for $65,000.
The production of the Tesla Sedan will start in 2009.

Tesla Motors Electric Car Range Adjusted
Tesla Motors had to revise the range of their $100,000 electric car from 250 miles down to about 200 miles.
Tesla sent out a media brief and informed the first customers of the change. The new lower range was the result of the latest testing of a validation prototype.

The Oscar Goes to Tesla Roadster, Toyota Prius, Phoenix Roadster and ZAP Car
This year many celebrities will arrive at the Oscars in ECO-Friendly cars. Tune in early today into the Oscar coverage to see the real stars of this year's Academy Award night.
The utra-cool Tesla Roadster electric sports car, a plug-in Prius that gets up to 100 mpg, the all electric Phoenix Roadster SUV, Compressed Natural Gas vehicles and the electric Zap Car will be starring tonight.
The awareness of climate change never was so high. The Academy Awards are a great venue to market innovative new cars that enable people to make a difference.
It would be nice if Tesla Cars would be made by Ford or GM and sell for $20,000 in numbers and not for $92,000.
