Lenovo ThinkPad X61 and X61s Notebook Review

Topic:

Lenovo ThinkPad X61 and X61s Notebook Review Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review XYZ Computing reviews the Lenovo ThinkPad X61 and X61s Notebooks.

Quote from the review:
"Overall, not a lot has changed from the X60. The system is still the same old 12" ultraportable that so many road warriors have come to appreciate, it still has that conservative ThinkPad styling, and- you guessed it- still no optical drive. There is good news though because changes were made inside the system. The biggest move was an upgrade to the notebooks' platform as the new systems use Intel's Centrino Duo technology. This platform, which affects the wireless, chipset, and processor, is also known as "Santa Rosa" and marks an appreciable evolution in notebook design. Another change is that the processors were upgraded. While the X60 moved up from one set of Core 2 Duos to another, the X60s had a major change as it moved from a Core Duo process up to the new Core 2 Duo line. Read more

Lenovo Thinkpad Z61t Notebook Review

Topic:

Lenovo Thinkpad Z61t Notebook Review Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review XYZ Computing reviews the Lenovo Thinkpad Z61t notebook computer.

Quote from the review:
"This notebook resembles the rest of the Thinkpad line in most respects, but differentiates itself in a few ways. The Z series is the most consumer-friendly Thinkpad and combines popular features, like an integrated camera and widescreen display, with a reasonable price- something that is sure to go over well with buyers.
The Z61t is still not ever going to be as cheap at as entry-level Dell but it currently starts are just over $1100 and has the features to justify the extra money, as well as the distinction of being a Thinkpad. If those were all not enough then it has one more surprise in store- a titanium exterior. Read more

Lenovo Thinkpad X60 Tablet Notebook Review

Topic:

Lenovo Thinkpad X60 Tablet Notebook Review Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review Our review partner Digital Trends tested the Lenovo Thinkpad X60 tablet notebook and published a review.

Quote from the review:
"Without the "ThinkPad X6 Tablet UltraBase" expansion dock, the X60 is slightly less functional. It does not have an optical drive built-in, which means no CD or DVD drive.
To use CDs or DVD on the go, one must have copied disk images to the hard drive with an included utility, or one must use an external USB CD/DVD drive. There are three USB 2.0 ports, a single 4-pin FireWire port, built-in SD/MMC card slot, dial-up modem port, infrared port, embedded WWAN, VGA video out, audio input and output jacks, and a much-appreciated PC Card slot for flash card readers, USB expansion ports, etc. Essentially, any expansion needs could be managed by way of PC cards or USB devices.
