The product is called Nero LiquidTV | TiVo PC. Users can pause, rewind, and watch live TV right on the computer.

The software also allows the programs to be exported to the iPod PSP, or DVD. TiVo features included in the software are WishList searches, Season Pass recording, TiVo KidZone and TiVo Suggestions. The software is compatible with Windows Vista or XP and comes with a TiVo PC remote, TV tuner card, and an IR Blaster to create wireless IR connection between the cable or satellite box and the PC. NEW YORK (Reuters) - TiVo Inc is developing a new digital video recorder for satellite TV provider DirecTV , rekindling a strained relationship and potentially opening the door to boosting the number of its subscribers.

TiVo shares climbed more than 2 percent on Wednesday after the companies said that they had extended their current deal and added the development, marketing and distribution of a new high-definition DirecTV DVR featuring TiVo service. The product's launch is expected in the second half of 2009.

The service takes demographics segments from 20,000 homes that use TiVo hardware.

The service provides the broadcasters with information on what commercials viewers watch and what commercials they skip. TiVo says that the viewers in the passive panel have agreed to let it use personally identifiable viewing data to compile the findings. Read more

TiVo reported a net loss for Q4 2007 of $6.4 million compared to a loss of $19.5 million in the same quarter the previous year.

TiVo also announced today that it had a trial going with Cox in New England using TiVo technology and Comcast has fully launched in New England using TiVo technology. TiVo says its Q4 service and technology revenues were $58.1 million compared to $57 million the previous year. Read more
