LucidTouch Transparent Touch Screen Interface
Scientists have developed a novel transparent touch screen interface dubbed LucidTouch.
This interesting user interface concept allows you to touch a display from behind. This avoids that your fingers obstruct the screen as it is the case with the iPhone or similar touch screen devices.
Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories and Microsoft Research constructed a prototype of this new touch screen concept.

New Pantech IM-R200 offers an OLED Touch Screen Keypad
Korean mobile phone manufacturer Pantech announces the IM-R200 handset.
The Pantech IM-R200 is dual-LCD sliding phone equipped with an OLED touch-sensitive screen.
The innovative OLED touch-screen keyboard reminds me on the much hyped Optimus OLED Keyboard. Pantech designed the virtual touch keypad with capacitive sensor technology. The screen even vibrates when pressed to give the user tactile feedback. The virtual keypad screen has a size of 1.6 inch and 260k colors.
Another feature that I did not hear about to be featured in a phone is the face recognition of the 2MP camera in the IM-R200.

No Touch, Touch Screen= Oxymoron?
Touch screens are certainly cool when used in the right place. I’d like to see my old Razr go the way of the Dodo in favor of a nice touch screen phone.
Touch screen tech isn’t all that great for those who have used it to replace a PC mouse. The pointer never seems to go where you want it too. Another big side effect is that you end up with gobs of greasy fingerprints all over your screen. Read more

LG's Sweet New Touch Screen Phone
LG has a really cool looking new phone that has no buttons and relies solely on a touch screen for entering data and phone numbers. The phone is called the LG KE850 and I can only hope that is doesn’t chare the woes of some other touch screen devices I have used in the past.
The biggest issue I have had with touch screen phones and devices is that the buttons are sometimes not that easy to push. There isn’t much in the way of specs on the phone available right now. Read more

Lilliput CL8889NT 8 Inch Touch Screen LCD Review
XYZ Computing reviews the Lilliput CL8889NT 8 inch Touch Screen LCD.
This touch screen looks like a nice choice to build your own Upravlator.
Quote from the review:
"The thought of a smaller monitor is something that is counter intuitive because, as display go, conventional thought would tell you that bigger is always better. A smaller display is also not something everyone would consider because Mini-ITX computers are getting quite powerful lately, so why pair a capable computer with a tiny monitor? These are decisions each user has to make on their own, but if you are looking for a small computer for your kitchen or living room, an 8" display might be perfect.

Philips SRU9600 Touch Screen Universal Remote Review
The good news up front: the Philips SRU9600 is a really easy to use universal remote that is stylish too.
Quote:
"Philips announced the stylish and sleek SRU9600 LCD touch screen universal remote in February 2006. The 8-in-1 universal remote control hit stores recently.
Philips actually had sent me the RC9800i universal touch screen remote a long time ago for review. I never got to review it because the stylus driven remote did not appeal to me and it did not feel intuitive. This experience made me skeptical of the new SRU9600, but I was pleasantly surprised.

ETech: University New York Develops Multi-Touch Screen
Single touch-screen displays are pretty common, but the technology hasn’t been there for the kind of multi-touch interfaces hinted at in movies like Minority Report.
Multi-touch sensing enables a user to interact with a system with more than one finger at a time, which also means that multiple users are able to use the touch screen simultaneously. For example, it is possible to mix photographies on the screen in real time or zoom in maps over simple finger movements. The technique is also force-sensitiv and provides very high resolution and scalability.
The multi-touch display used in a demo measures only 36"x27". It uses rear-projection and realizes the pressure perception over the measurement of internal light losses - a technology, which is called Frustrated Total Internal Reflection (FTIR).
