If you combine the RC toys with some lasers, I am especially interested. Jada Toys has announced a slick new line of RC toys called Battle Machines that sell for $49.99 for a pair of the machines or $29.99 for a single car.

The toys look like they are right out of the Death Race film and combine laser tag style play with RC racing. The toys have a shield level indicator and there are three different cars to choose from including the Mustang GT, 69 Chevy Camaro SS, and a 99 Chevy Silverado Dooley. Read more

The augmented reality enabled toys will be launched with Cameron's much-anticipated film Avatar.
We have seen augmented reality already on smartphones, looks like toys are next.
Mattel will offer Avatar action figures, vehicles and creatures that come with a 3-D web tag, called an i-TAG, which you can scan using a home computer’s webcam.
Scanning the i-TAG will reveal special content onscreen unique to the corresponding product.

Exact content varies for each item, but could include biographical information, additional images and animated models of the figures. When the i-TAG for deluxe figures, vehicles or creatures are placed under a webcam, animated 3-D models will come alive through engaging, evading or defending moves. Place two i-TAGs from the Battle Pack together and the 3-D images will interact with each other. Read more

NeuroSky makes gear that is called brain-computer interface equipment. All of the games and toys created with the collaboration will use the NeuroSky ThinkGear headset to process brainwaves and turn them into digital signals.

Among the first toys to debut in the collaboration will be the Mindflex game to be launched by Mattel. The game will use mind-eye coordination and physical acuity to levitate and guide a small foam ball around a customizable obstacle course. Read more
