Dopod launches the HTC Startrek Windows Mobile 5.0 smartphone as Dopod S300 in China and Taiwan.

The HTC Startrek is one of the few Windows Mobile folding handsets on the market, maybe even the only one?
The phone weighs 99g and is 15.8mm thick. A 2.2 inch color screen with 240 x 320px and a 1.3MP camera are available in this smartphone. Read more

Star Trek Mobile Phone Coming from Viacom and Soma Mobile

Viacom and Soma Mobile are bringing Star Trek fans a Star Trek communicator style mobile phone end of September.

The Star Trek phone is part of promotions to come to celebrate 40 years of Star Trek next year.
Apparently the Star Trek phone is not finalized yet, but it will have the appeal of the classic Star Trek communicator. It will play music and videos and games.

Check out the latest from Smart ID Technology. The Wifi Trekker is a consumer level WiFi detector used to located 802.11 networks. As you can see, it has one button. Simply press it, and the Trekker will auto scan for any nearby (300-600 feet) networks. If it finds one, it gives you a visual and audio alert. Nice.

The FueTrek chips can alter the frequency and strength of the sound signals to generate 3-D sounds from the mobile phone speaker.
Game developers can leverage FueTrec's technology to create realistic sound effects.
