Sony announces 21 new VAIO Notebooks
Sony announced 1 new VAIO notebook in the US and Europe. In Japan Sony announced today 21 new VAIO notebooks in four VAIO series. I ask you, Is this fair?
The new Sony VAIO notebooks are in the A, BX, F/FZ and G series.
The Sony A series gets the VGN-AR73DB and VGN-AR53DB and 4 models for businesses. Main features are huge 240GB/200GB hard-drives, digital TV tuner (wansegu), 17 inch screen, Core 2 Duo T7300/T7100 CPU, NVidia GForce 8600M GT GPU, 1GB RAM, Bluetooth, FeliCA and Windows Vista Home Premium.

Sony introduced the VAIO CR slim notebook line featuring a glossy finish in bold colors.
To complete the look, each CR notebook comes with its own funky VAIO branded wallpaper and optional color-coordinated carrying bag and mouse.
Features of the Sony VAIO CR notebooks include 14.1 inch screen, Intel Centrino Duo CPU, max. 4GB RAM, 160GB HDD, built-in 802.11n Wi-Fi, CD/DVD player/burner drive, Instant-on mode and A/V controls, built-in digital camera and S-video port.

Sony Announces Several New VAIO PCs
Sony is announcing new VAIO models to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the VAIO notebook computer. Ten new VAIO models are going on sale starting May 26th. The type T VAIO will sport Intel Core 2 Duo CPUs, 12 hour battery life with the standard pack and 18 hours with the long life battery.
The type T can also be equipped with up to 32GB of flash memory to improve performance of the system. The entire machine is only 22.5 mm thick and four colors will be available including stock black, premium carbon, Bordeaux, and champagne gold. Read more

New Sony VAIO TZ, SZ5, FZ CZ Notebooks Leaked
Some information about new Sony notebooks that are scheduled to be released this Summer have appeared.
Most information is from a leaked spec sheet on the European VIAO site.
There is supposed to be a new 11.1" screen ultra portable VAIO TZ, a 13.3" screen VAIO SZ5, a 15.4" screen VAIO FZ series, a 13.3 inch CZ and a widescreen 14" VAIO CR notebook.

Sony VAIO XL3 Blu-ray Media Center Video Report
Sony introduced the high-end Blu-ray VAIO XL3 media center PC at CES 2007.
The VAIO XL3 sports a built-in NTSC, an ATSC television tuner and unidirectional digital CableCARD. This makes the XL3 the perfect HD video recording machine.
Specifications include Intel Core 2 Duo processor, NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GTL graphics, 2GB of RAM memory, and a 500GB hard drive.

CES 2007: Sony Vaio TP1 Video Report
Sony announced at the CES 2007 a cylindrical shaped living room PC dubbed VAIO TP1.
The VAIO TP1 has rather unique looks. It features HDMI and all kinds of interfaces. A Intel Core 2 Duo 5600 at 1.83Ghz on the Viiv platform is at the heart of the TP1. Other features include a 300GB HDD, 2GB RAM, DVD RW drive and Wifi. It comes with a wireless keyboard and remote.

Sony VAIO VGN-TXN15P Laptop Review @ Laptop Mag
Sony is now using Sprint’s EV-DO modem in their new VAIO VGN-TXN15P laptop, replacing the previously used Cingular EDGE modem for more speedy downloads sans wire or hotspot.
The new Sony lappy sports a carbon fiber chassis and weighs only 2.8 pounds. The display is smallish at 11" and sports a 1366 x 768 screen resolution. Then, it would not be an ultraportable if the screen was larger and heavier. This laptop is a tool for the serious road warrior. Read more

Sony VAIO G1 is World's Lightest 12.1 Inch Notebook
Sony introduces an ultra-light 12.1 inch notebooks on the Japanese market dubbed the VAIO G series.
Sony claims the VAIO G series is the world's lightest 12.1 inch notebook weighing only 898g. Very nice!
Sony used carbon material for the casing to optimize the weight. There are two consumer models in the VAIO G1 series.
The Sony VGN-G1KAP features a Intel Core Solo U1300 with 1.06Ghz CPU, 512MB RAM, 80GB HDD, DVD multi-drive, W-LAN, FeliCa smart chip, Fingerprint sensor, Bluetooth and additional battery pack which extends the battery life to 12.5 hours.

Sony VAIO VGN-TXN10 Notebook with EV-DO Rev. A
Sony puts the VAIO VGN-TXN10 Series on the start with EV-DO Rev. A capability.
Sprint expects to upgrade its network in select markets with EV-DO Revision A (Rev. A) later this year. The Sony VGN-TXN10 is ready for that.
The Sony VGN-TXN10 features a carbon fiber chassis and weighs 2.8-pounds and is less than one-inch thin (at its narrowest point). Features included Intel Cor Solo CPU, 11.1 inch screen, 5-11 hours battery life, fingerprint sensor, DVD drive and Sony's instant mode to watch movies without booting.
Sony announced the VAIO TX series with integrated mobile broadband connectivity one year ago.

Sony announces VAIO LS1 TV/PC Combo in the United States.
The Sony VAIO LS1 is featuring a framed display with a transparent border for a cool floating effect. The LS1 integrates a PC into a slim chassis hidden behind the back of a flat-panel 19 inch WSXGA+ (1680 x 1050px) LCD display.

Sony VAIO VGN-UX180P Now With $150 Rebate
The Sony VAIO UX Micro PC VGN-UX180P is now available on Amazon.com with a $150 rebate, bringing the price down to $1,679.99.
Amazon already started to ship the first VAIO UX Micro PCs based on our reports.
The product page still indicates that the VGN-UX180P is not released yet.
Sony already announced new VAIO UX models in Japan that will sport a solid state drive (SSD) instead of a HDD.

New Sony VAIO UX SSD VGN-UX90PS and VGN-UX90S
Sony announces new VAIO UX Micro PCs with 16GB SSD (flash memory drives) in Japan. Sony tries to stay on the ball in the SSD game. Samsung already announced the Q1 UMPC with SSD a month ago. Most likely is the 16GB flash memory anyway made by Samsung.
The Sony VAIO VGN-UX90PS runs Windows XP Professional on an Intel Core Solo U1400 (1.20GHz), while the VGN-UX90S runs Windows XP Home on a Core Solo U1300 (1.06GHz).
The SSD drive brings about approximately 3-6 times faster application start-ups, 13% longer battery life and the weight is 28g lower.
The new VAIO UX90 Micro PCs also feature wansegu (OneSeg) digital TV tuner.

Sony VAIO VGN-UX180P Available for Pre-Order
The Sony Windows XP handheld is now available for pre-order on Amazon.com and SonyStyle.
As reported a couple weeks ago, Dynamism is already shipping the Japanese Sony VAIO UX Micro PC internationally.
The US version of the UX is the VGN-UX180P and will ship according to SonyStyle on or around July 5th. The current price is $1,799.99.

The Japanese market VAIO UX comes in four different packages:
The Sony VGN-UX90/S runs on a Intel Core Solo U1400 1.2GHz. It comes configured with a 30GB HDD, 512MB RAM, WinXP HOME and an English keyboard. Price: $2,199.00.
The Sony VGN-UX90/S/Bundle comes with the external PCGA-DDRW2 DVD±RW OEM Bundle upping the price to $2,379.00.

New Sony VAIO AR Blu-ray Notebook
Sony announces the VAIO AR Blu-ray notebook in the United States.
The Sony VAIO AR comes in two different configurations: Premium and Standard. The AR Premium version plays Blu-ray Disc high-definition content, so you can enjoy movies in full 1080p HD resolution.
An HDMI port lets you connect the VAIO AR to your HDTV to watch Blu-ray movies on the big screen and not just on the 17 inch notebook screen.
The 17 inch screen of the VAIO AR features a resolution of 1920 x 1200px. Windows Media Center Edition 2005 is running on a Intel Centrino Duo mobile CPU. Other features of the VAIO AR include NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 with 256MB, video camera and TV-Tuner (Not all models).
