Verizon and RIM officially announced the BlackBerry Storm on October 8th. To keep your interest up, Verizon published video material of the BlackBerry Storm. We published the video in our Youtube channel and you can see it below.
The video shows in detail several key aspects of the first touch screen BlackBerry.
The typing on the virtual keyboard of the Storm looks in the video reasonably fast, but you have to of course stare at the screen at all times to hit the right keys. For BlackBerry power users this will not work well. Read more

Video Games Give Benefits to Kids say Parents

A new study from Sony Online Entertainment LLC has shown that parents are seeing benefits of kids playing video games. The survey was published exclusively in the November issue of Family Circle and suggests that parents are seeing improvements in hand/eye coordination, problem solving and typing skills.

According to the survey, games are teaching kids to think strategically. The survey found that 70% of parents who participated have seen problem solving skills improve since the kids started playing games. Key study findings include 75% of participants attribute educational value and improved hand/eye coordination to games. 84% saw an increase in typing skills after kids played PC games, 72% say kids play online games with other people some or all of the time and 80% say their kids play games in a common area of the house. Elmo Live Video Review

As reported earlier Elmo Live started shipping to those who pre-ordered early enough. Gizmodo published a nice review featuring a couple of videos showing what Elmo Live can do and you can judge for yourself on how funny Elmo Live really is.

Elmo tells jokes and reacts to touching his nose and other body parts. On drawback that gets obvious in the videos are the rather loud motors that make Elmo do his gestures. They sound a little annoying and ruin the fun a bit. Read more

Youtube adds Click-to-buy to Videos

Google announced a new way to monetize video content on Youtube. YouTube users will have a new "click-to-buy" option to purchase music and games. Click-to-buy links are non-obtrusive retail links, placed on the watch page beneath the video with the other community features.
Google is getting started by embedding iTunes and Amazon.com links on videos from companies like EMI Music, and providing Amazon.com product links to the newly-released video game Spore on videos from Electronic Arts. Read more

As reported Nintendo announced a new DS today with the Nintendo DSi. The Nintendo DSi will launch in Japan on November 1st and in other countries in 2009. That is why all the marketing material for the Nintendo DSi is in Japanese at the moment.

EA signs Video Game Deal with ''300'' Director

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Video game publisher Electronic Arts Inc has signed a deal for Hollywood director Zack Snyder, who made the hit 2006 film "300," to help develop video games, some of which may someday become movies themselves.
The agreement, announced on Monday, calls for Snyder, who also directed 2004's "The Dawn of the Dead" and is working on a film adaptation of the "Watchmen" comic book series, to develop three original games for EA.

SEATTLE (Reuters) - Amazon.com has fixed a glitch in its video streaming service by adopting Adobe Systems Inc's encryption on all television shows and movies found on its site, software maker Adobe said on Monday.
