Virgin Atlantic Lifts Ban on Dell & Apple Laptops

News.com says Virgin Atlantic is lifting the complete ban on in-flight use of Dell and Apple laptops. Previously Virgin was preventing passengers from bringing Apple or Dell laptops on-board with the batteries still in place no matter if it was a model covered in a recall or not. With all the footage and hubbub surrounding the exploding Dell batteries, I was not surprised the ban was levied in the first place. I was more surprised that more airlines didn’t follow suit with similar restrictions. Read more

Coin-Sized MP3 Player by Virgin Electronics

Virgin Electronics (formerly Virgin Pulse) unveiled a MP3 player the size of a silver dollar.

This coin-sized MP3 Player is actually manufactured by EraTech and was first introduced in July 2003.

The Wearable 128MB MP3 Player will sell for $99.99 at Target Stores from today. It is not yet available at Target Online.

Virgin Megastore members receive a customized HP iPAQ when they arrive at the store. Consumers scan product bar codes into the 802.11b Pocket PC that connects wirelessly to the MusiKube’s Encyclomedia™, a powerful MS SQL Server database comprised of licensed samples of over two-million songs, album reviews and related content. NOTE: In the future, curtain cell phones will also be able to access the Virgin PMG.

New Virgin Mobile MTV Edition Kyocera Slider S5

Virgin Mobile USA a joint venture between Sprint and Virgin Group introduces a MTV branded Mobile Phone.

Virgin Mobile said the MTV phone called Slider V5 *MTV will be made by Japanese cell phone maker Kyocera Corp. and will sell for $159.
The Kyocera Slider V5 MTV Edition (similar design as Siemens SL56) features a full color screen and comes bundled with MTV games and content.
