The G25 has several notable features including a real clutch pedal and gated shifter. The force feedback uses dual motors and offers some of the most realistic feedback of any wheel I have gamed with. Read more

USB Hamster Wheel
The creativity for USB powered gadgets knows no borders. Another proof of this is the USB powered Hamster wheel.
The USB Hamster Wheel runs as fast as you type. The faster you type your blog entry the faster the wheel turns.
Do not replace the stuffed hamster though with your real hamster; he might get bored with your two finger typing and run away.

GyroBike - Invisible Training Wheels
GyroBike a spin-out of Dartmouth College with a gyroscope device that helps kids learn to ride a bicycle without training wheels.
The Gyrobike employs spinning flywheel inside the front wheel that uses gyroscopic precession to provide a bike moving at 2.5 mph with the natural stability of a bike moving at 10 mph.
This natural stability has been demonstrated to enhance the process of learning to ride a bike.
Pretty cool idea. The fact that the Gyrobike is available as aftermarket product could give it huge sales potential.

CARVER ONE - First Tilting Three-Wheeler on the Market
Yesterday we reported about the BMW CLEVER Concept tilting three-wheeler, which is still far away from becoming commercial. A UK company is actually already on the market with a tilting three-wheeled vehicle dubbed CARVER ONE.
The Carver One is for people who love curves. Its top speed is 115 mph (185km/h). The motorcycle car mix accelerates from 0-60mph in 8.2s. It has a 68hp 4 cylinder 16 valve turbo intercooler engine.
At the heart of the Carver One is the so caleld the Dynamic Vehicle Control (DVC) system which automatically adjusts the tilt angle of the cockpit to the speed and acceleration of the vehicle enabling a plane-like "tilting before cornering".
Formula One's Jenson Button calls the Carver One driving experience: "absolute madness… fantastic!".
The Carver One is available now in Europe. US Sales is building up right now and distribution is supposed to be up and running late 2006.
Now, you really have to love curves a lot, because the base price of the Carver One is $44,850 - that is half a Porsche and way more expensive than a Suzuki 2006 Hayabusa 1300.

Volkswagen GX3 - A Futuristic Three-Wheeler
Is the VW GX3 a car or a motorcycle? It is in-between and it looks very hot for a Volkswagen.
Volkswagen will show GX3 concept at the Los Angeles Motor Show that takes place from the 6th to the 15th of January.
The GX3 was conceived by the Moonraker team and VW’s Design Center in California, exclusively with the U.S. in mind, to bring an new idea to a fully functioning concept.
The GX3 only takes 5.7 seconds to go from 0-62.5 mph (100 km/h) and the fuel consumption in the city is estimated to be 46 mpg (5.2 l/100 km).
The GX3 will be driven by a VW 1.6 liter engine. The four-cylinder delivers 92 kW / 125 hp.

New Input Concept: KeyWheel by Microth
Microth published a new input concept for mobile devices on their site dubbed KeyWheel.
The KeyWheel differs from the Apple iPod TouchWheel in that it is using absolute and discrete positioning. The KeyWheel takes into account the starting position of the gesture and
it's length.
The KeyWheel advantages are that only a small number of keys is necessary for it to work and all selections are made by the same movements, which should make it easy to use. It works a bit like the old dial on phones actually.

Moovie - Big Wheel Electrical Peugeot Automobile of the Future
Moovie is a big wheeled design concept for a compact city car.
The Moovie design from André Costa is the winner of the 3rd Peugeot Design Competition. The concept car will be shown at the IAA 2005 Auto Show in Frankfurt. Apparently the Moovie can make turns just by using its two big wheels. The front only has two spheres for support, but the steering is done with the big wheels in the back.
The Moovie reminds me more on a vacuum cleaner than on a car.

Hokey Spokes: LED Text Display on Bike Wheels
Hokey Spokes are transparent "blades" that attach to bicycle spokes. As these blades spin during riding, a computer inside the blades modulates the internal string of LED lights to produce design images and custom text.
The user can decide on the number of spokes and a variety of colors they want to place on the bicycle wheel. Up to 6 "blades" can be placed on each wheel. The more blades, the more visibility and persistence of vision at lower speeds.
The blades actually synchronize with each other by communicating with each other via an infrared communication scheme during spinning. Therefore, you can pass along a message to another rider simply by placing your wheel next to theirs.
The Blades are programmed with a Palm OS software.
One Hokey Spoke sells for $29.95 at Hokey Spokes site.
This is similar concept like the Text LED Message Mobile phones we reported about.

Mystery Balloon Wheel Vehicle from Belarus
We received photos and a video from an I4U reader (thanks zenonn) living in Belarus. He attended a demonstration of a new six balloon wheel sporting all-terrain or cross-country vehicle.
The intriguing kinda fun looking vehicle is going on sale in 2005. There are 19 photos in our Gadget Gallery of the still nameless driving machine. Some of the photos show the vehicle driving through water (see photo below) and through ice.
A short video (350KB) shows the Belarus vehicle go over obstacles.
The factory making those vehicles said it will have a web site up in February 2005 presenting this vehicle in more detail.
Lets see if this vehicle can compete with the Gibbs Humdinga.
In case you do not know Belarus, visit the great CIA World Fact Book.
