Tesla Motors revealed some details about their future electric sedan codename WhiteStar.

Tesla Motors raised the coolness factor for electrical cars by 1,000% when the company introduced the Tesla Roadster. The electrical car is so hot that Tesla can afford to raise the price from $92,000 to $98,000 starting June 15th. If you still want a Tesla Roadster for $92k you need to reserve one now.

Tesla Motors works on a new electric car for the family. The WhiteStar is supposed to come in two versions. One will sell for $50,000 and the premium model sells for $65,000.

Samsung shows White LED BLU LCD TV

LED back lighting is not enough; Samsung says it has to be a white LED.

LED BLU gives you better color reproduction and lacks bad stuff like mercury or halogen.
How this white LED technology is improving the LCD panel quality is not clear to me as the Google Korean translation is sketchy. Read more

First Look at Whitebook Notebooks Asus C90S and C91S

The new Asus C90S and C91S whitebook notebooks are supposed to be easy to upgrade, just like desktops.

Laptop magazine visited Asus and got some hands-on time with prototype models of the C90S and C91S.

T-Mobile launches White Blackberry Pearl

The other day I heard that white is the new trend color for cars. Since the iPod introduction white also keeps strong in the gadget world. Today T-Mobile launches a white version of the Blackberry Pearl.

With a name like Pearl, the first 8100 should have been a white one anyway. The new white BlackBerry Pearl comes with white accessories: stereo headset, travel charger and USB cable

T-Mobile will also lower the price of BlackBerry Pearl from $199 to $149 with a two-year service contract. Read more

Most Powerful White LED by Seoul Semiconductor

Seoul Semiconductor introduces the P4 Z-Power LED, which delivers 100 lumen/watt brightness.

The P4 emits 240 lm at 1 A of light and features 100 lm/W at 350 mA at the maximum. The LED is based only on a single die.

The Hasbro i-Cat, the feline version of the i-Dog, that was all the rage last Holiday season, is shipping from Sharper Image for $29.99.

Along with the Hasbro i-Cat there is also a new generation of the i-Dog. One of the new features is that they react to music without connecting a cable to them. The i-Cat can be still used as speaker and it mixes funky ‘scratch’ sound effect to the played music.
When the i-Cat hears music, its face will light up or its ears and head will wiggle and sway with the tune.

Lite-On Licenses Cree White LED Tech for Laptop Displays

Lite-On has licensed Cree’s new white LED technology to use in making light bars to backlight laptop displays. The license of Cree’s US Patent No. 6,600,175 allows Lite-On to be the first licensee of Cree technology for system-level application targeting laptop displays.

"Cree's '175 patent is particularly important to companies manufacturing white LED-based display products for the laptop and PC markets, because avoiding IP disputes is essential for PC market acceptance," noted Scott Schwab, Cree vice president and general manager of optoelectronics. White Pearl - The Affordable Version of the Black Diamond Phone

On the weekend we reported about the super expensive $300,000 Black Diamond Mobile phone. Now Esato reports that Jaren Goh also designed a more affordable version of the Black Diamond called White Pearl.

Affordable is of course relative, as the price of the White Pearl is $1,500. And do not expect to find a pearl integrated in the phone at this price.

The White Pearl will also be made by Swiss VIPN. The luxury phone will feature Quad band and Wi-Fi connectivity and run Windows Mobile 5 on an Intel 400Mhz processor. Read more

White Sony PSP Core Ships Today

Now you can get the white Sony PSP for a low price directly from Japan. Street price in Japan is about $175. Play-Asia exports the White PSP-1000 CW for $209.90.

As with the black Sony PSP Core the while does only come with a power adapter and the battery.

Why Sony is not releasing the white Sony PSP outside of Japan is beyond me. Play-Asia is not shipping this PSP to Europe for some reason.

Samsung SPH-V8900 / SCH-V890 White Thin Slider Handset

Samsung announced a cool new thin slider mobile phone in Korea dubbed the SPH-V8900 and SCH-V890.

Samsung chose the color white for this 13.8mm thin slider handset. Besides being stylish the new Samsung phone features Bluetooth and a 1.3MP camera.

Samsung's marketing came up with the acronym SKIN for this handset, which means something like the Slim and Keen.

I wonder what will be the next big thing after the slim mobile phone trend. It is now around for a while and was started by Motorola with the RAZR. Read more

Sony announces in Japan a Ceramic White Sony PSP Core package selling for 20,790 yen (incl. tax), which is only about $175. This price is still a bit higher than Nintendo charges for the Nintendo DS lite.

Nintendo DS Lite Launches Only in White in Japan

Japanese Nintendo DS fans only can buy a white Nintendo DS Lite on March 2nd. Nintendo postponed the launch of the ice blue and enamel navy models until March 11th.

Reasons for the delay are apparently production quality issues. Japanese consumers like special editions and colors. So I guess many will wait until the other choices are available.
Demand for the new 'cooler' Nintendo DS Lite is high in Japan and stores stopped taking pre-orders according to GamesIndustry. Read more

Sony announces in Japan a white Sony PSP.

Nintendo already launched the Nintendo DS in several colors, now Sony gets into the color version game with the highly anticipated white Sony PSP.
Not only is the console white, but also the pouch. The headset was already white, although Sony announced a black headset a while ago.
The white Sony PSP PSP-1000 KCW will go on sale on September 15th for 24,800 yen (~$225) in Japan.
