Black Wii Bundle Headed To Europe
Everyone knows that black is a way cooler color than white. When you've got a white gaming console, you're just another member of the herd. Blending in, keeping a low profile, playing by the rules and trying to stay straight and fly right. The Wii has a reputation for being a great kiddy and casual gamer console, but it still needs to be able to draw in the hardcore set.
That's why Nintendo is putting out a black Wiimote, and also why they're bringing an all-black Wii bundle to Europe (via Engadget). That's right, starting November 6th you folks in the UK and Ireland will be able to express your angst through a darkened console. On the 20th, the rest of Europe gets the opportunity.

Heckler & Koch MP5 Wiimote Controller?
Lightguns usually look pretty lame. That's intentional on the part of the designers; parents tend to complain when kids get badass, realistic looking guns for their gaming consoles. Apparently one company didn't get that memo, however. A Chinese manufacturer has put together a 1:1 scale semi-accurate representation of the Heckler & Koch MP5 submachine gun that functions as a Wiimote.
And not just a Wiimote. According to Pocket Lint this awesome new light gun functions as a nunchuck and a Wii MotionPlus. It contains a built-in battery and recharges via USB. It also comes with a speaker, and rumble functionality.

In the UK there is a rumor of new Wii Bundles that would include the MotionPlus accessory. I could imagine that Nintendo is bringing such bundles world-wide to drive even more sales.

Square Enix Head Predicts HD Wii In 2011
Do you like your rumors with a side of high-level corporate nastiness? If so, you've visited on the right day! Joystiq reports that the head of Square Enix, one Yoichi Wada, has stated that the Wii successor is due in 2011. Mr. Wada also laughed off Microsoft and Sony's attempts at motion control systems, predicting they will have very little impact.
Wada believes the new Wii will add several features to the console that are also found on the PS3 and 360, namely high-definition video. He also thinks that the 2011 launch may herald the release of a new type of controller for the Wii, although no further details were forthcoming.

Nintendo Wii Price Cuts Confirmed?
Since the release of the PS3 Slim, we've been waiting to see how the other console manufacturers will respond to Sony's price cut. Microsoft countered by discounting their Xbox 360 Elite. We've long expected to hear of price cuts from Nintendo's corner, and even heard a slew of rumors to that effect. Now the folks at Nintendojo claim that they have received confirmation of the price cuts directly from Nintendo.
They claim that, during a retailer conference call, Nintendo announced a $50 price cut in the Wii, effective September 27th. Unfortunately, their claims are impossible to verify at this point. We don't have any independent confirmation of this rumor, but the slew of leaked catalog images certainly lend it some credence.

Logitech's New Wii/360/PS3 Drums/Guitar Expensive, Fancy
Do you hate your bank account and love Guitar Hero? If so, Logitech is here to help. They've just released a new set of high-end Guitar Hero instruments for the Nintendo Wii. According to Gizmodo their new guitar has a maple neck, a rosewood fingerboard, and metal frets. The new drums are absolutely gorgeous; they come with three pads and two cymbals, all fully adjustable, with a recessed rim around the pads to help avoid rim shots. The kick petal is made of stainless steel.
Sounds pretty great, doesn't it? And, to make things even better, the exact same instruments are already out for the PS3 and Xbox 360. What's the catch? The Price. Logitech is charging $200 for the guitar, and $230 for the drums. That's more than excessive, but if you absolutely must have the best these instruments are it.
