WipEout HD takes the best tracks from Wipeout Pure and Wipeout Pulse and throws them at you in full 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second.

Sony PSP Wipeout Pure Downloads Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review The Wipeout Pure Sony PSP game features downloadable content. It's browser already has been already 'miss-used' to surf the web with the PSP. GameSpy has published an interview with Sony about the upcoming Wipeout Pure downloads.

The first downloads will be Straten Part track, Tigron ship and Pirhana skin for the front-end menu.

Hacked Sony PSP Wipeout Pure plays from Memory Stick? Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review Thursday the first reports showed up that some guys hacked the Sony PSP UMD disc format and downloaded games from the discs on PCs. Now another story appeared that says that somebody was able to get a hacked Wipeout Pure to run from Memory Stick on the Sony PSP.

I am pretty much against those kind of hacks. Yes the games are expensive with $50 for a new one, but you always can rent PSP games. I like what people did so far with the PSP - the "positive hacks" like surfing the web with the Wipeout Pure browser.
Hacking the UMD format or better cracking it is not really productive in my mind. In any case on psphacks.net a person claims to be able to run Wipeout Pure on from the memory stick. There is a link to a video showing an attempt to run Wipeout Pure from the Memory Stick, but it fails with an error message. Find link in this discussion thread.

Sony PSP Hack: Web Browsing on PSP with Wipeout Pure

Sony PSP Hack: Web Browsing on PSP with Wipeout Pure Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review Photo: PSP411 When the unfinished Sony PSP update made its round on the web a couple of month ago everybody got excited about having a Web Browser on the PSP. Some smart people figured out (cannot figure out who was first) to use the web access feature inside Wipeout Pure (Note to self: Need to buy Wipeout Pure) to access any web-site.

The procedure includes to configure a DNS server that maps the download server for the PSP game to a custom page. The web browser in the game has of course no Userinterface for web-browsing so the URLs have to be typed in on web pages that use javascript to have the browser load the site.
The site Absurd Genius has setup a DNS server and a little portal page that makes it very easy to access the web with the PSP.
